Looking at the news that has been going round for quite sometime now on the ban of ICO ads. on Facebook and Google. Most especially on Facebook, which seems not to have been fully implemented, because ads. are still ongoing. To this effect, do you think this will still be implemented or it is just a way of scaring investors away from ICOs. If it eventually comes to reality, what are other option you think might be left for ads, most especially after Facebook and Google succeed in the ban?
Great! Too many fake ICO's starting companies they have been hiding around in social media.

That's true, The majority of ponzi projects are hiding behind the social media to paid some shillers to spread bullshit if that was including on the promising project. This why every social media was taking an action to prevent the ponzi and scam project to hide behind the social media itself. But i have seen some scam icos were started promote the majority of promotion in the social media to scam unknowledge person.

I heard of this amazing platform called Algebraix. Permission-based advertising platform where you get paid to watch ads and provide info to advertisers. Very smart and currently their beta is out. I see the future of advertising where we as consumers get paid for our data.

Facebook and Google is not the end of the road, there are a lot of advertising networks that accept cryptocurrency ads it's their loss anyway because cryptocurrency is now a billion dollar industry and they are not part of it anymore.

Users of Facebook complain that many ico scammers. They invest their money, and then complain to Facebook that this is the kind of advertising you have. Now Facebook will officially ban advertising ICO,, but advertising will still continue. Just need to change the keywords, hashtags

I have noticed a trend as regards some ICOs being advertised on Facebook. Most projects i now see advertised from my analysis seem to have good prospects. I have also discovered that the usage of some words have been prohibited by some of the ICOs. Most especially those that ask for posts or comments. They will tell you categorically that you are not to use some words such as ICO, investment, Pre-CO in your comments or posts. This i believe is measure to curb the activities of scam ICO.

I have not surprised that ICO ad was banned by FaceBook and Google. Both of them USA regulated public companies. Regulations in area of securities is not clear and it is better to ban ICO ad than sanctions from SEC.

Why does everyone see it as a big problem? I am sure that advertising will not be banned completely, but simply toughen the moderation conditions for ICO projects.
Yes its going to be not big problem as many governments want to control these things for safety of peoples many scam projects using these platforms and taking big amount of money which is not acceptable now I have news twitter is also going to ban these ads as well some more social network sites working on this as they can avoid this we need some more education and awareness of common peoples hopefully this will solve quickly

That is not news. We have been hearing about this from last month. And facebook is slowly removing all ads related to ICO and imposing ban on new advertisements which advertises ICOs. Google has recently started to do the same thing too, but as far as i remember google adsense never allowed anything thing related to ICOs or crypto currencies (not sure though). Thanks to all those shitty ICOs which end up scamming people, top techs now have to take those precautionary steps.

Scaring them is a little optimistic. Try stopping the scams. That is the purpose of it.

If you can still see advertisement and prove that they are scams then you report this to google and facebook to end them as early as we could.
They cannot control the flow specially when it is people who keeps on sharing this kind of scam ICO's. They still have a lot of hands and I think they are just the same people who also made scams before. This could be a group that had been spreading it.

I thought it will depend as long as the ICO uses KYC.
But it is not really about scaring the investors. It is about legitimacy that they want. Too many fake ICO starting companies have been lurking around in social media and they use this as a means to scam people.
Some of them are successful in robbing investors but I believe it will still depend on them. Making a lot of research to keep your money safe or you could talk to people who are specialist when it comes to investing.

this ban only temporarily affect the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency
after a few month the price will be recover and maybe will be going up very high than before
Why do you think that such prohibitions can affect the price of cryptocurrencies? I don't believe that. The price of cryptocurrency does not depend on advertising in Google. This will be a small problem for the ICO but this problem will be solved very quickly. There are many specialized sites that will better advertise the ICO.

"We have adopted a new policy prohibiting the advertising of financial products and services that are often associated with misleading or fraudulent activity: binary options, the primary supply of coins and crypto-currencies," — said in a statement Facebook. I really don't like it because I make my bread from bounty, and if they shut it down, then what do I do?

Ad blocking it's of course bad, but anyway all projects will be in searching outputs.
I will depend just on every project's marketing strategy, how they relocate their funds in this direction.
What about this blocking, i'm sure, everything will be back in couple of years after crypto legitimation.

Many options like Bing ads, Twitter ads, coinmarketcap and ICO listing sites and many crypto currency related blogs through direct ads. Facebook banned crypto related ads but why do I still see WePower and some other ICOs ads on my timeline everyday.
Same, inspite on having these bans but it turns out that those ads are still there.I do see it most of the time where i do question why those ads are still there if theres such ban is being implemented? As being said above there are still lots of ways when it comes to marketing stuff but we cant really deny the fact that Facebook and Google ad would really give a serious impact.

They cannot ban these ads 100%, you can still advertise on these platforms just change yhe keywords and use relevant but different keywords and your ad will go through.
I thought that happened because some ICO owner already paid for these ads, and Facebook is not going to refund them their money, but yes, your idea makes sense as well.
