Both for now. In future depends from situation, I think we need both now. Some things I can do with bank I cant do with btc and opposite. I would like to use just bitcoins for everything but who knows when will that be possible. Not in some near future for sure.
I dont think bank wish to solve anything, they are using this mess to make more and more profit for them. They will try to do something with blockchain tech. this is future, will they go with btc or some other (maybe they will make new one) is yet to be seen, but I bet they will do something I`m curious to see what.

Why not both? Definitely both of them still being uses, but saving my money in bitcoin wallet is a good investment for my future..

I would only bother with banks when dealing with fiat because basically there isn't any other way to do it. Sure you can buy a robust safe and get your cash stored on there but seriously what's the point, when you need to buy something you are going to need to have it in your bank account anyway, unless you buy everything locally which is very limiting.

agree with you Smiley
Im use both of them too, we can't use bitcoin without bank at this time,,

every month i exchange my bitcoin to my bank
TBH almost all of ppl who ever bought bitcoin have a bank account and buy bitcoin thru bank transfer or credit card, and i can sure they withdrawn btc to USD thru bank too, there's no big difference if both are just used for transaction ,different if both two compared for its function ,advantages, and disadvantages

i could not choose one among them, the reason is certainly that I need both, for now bitcoin wallet important, and will continue importantly, the bank account is also important because someday I have to exchange bitcoin with money, and the money I save in bank account. but did not rule one day I will pick bitcoin wallet.

ultimately we cannot do without banks unless there's a fundamental shift in the economy and a revolution of sorts regarding financial systems. would you store all your wealth in Bitcoin?

Yes completely wipe out of our bank system is not at all possible in next 50 years also.
We will be dependent on bank system even we have bitcoin as a mainstream of payments. To have only bitcoin payments, we need more financial revolution towards bitcoin ecosystem.

If I have to pick between banks and bitcoin, I will go with a bitcoin wallet as I own my money and I spend it whenever I want. But with banks I may have credits in my account and they do not give me any money when I ask them for like what is happening in some countries which have economic issues like Greece

I do not trust banks.  I once had $90,000 in the bank and wanted to go the the casino for the night.  So I went to the bank and asked for $5,000 of my money.  They told me that they did not have enough and that I had to go to another branch and get the other half of my money.  WTF  Screw banks.

Bitcoin=/=bank. Storing bitcoin is like keeping the money under your bed. With the difference that FIAT is vulnerable to inflation and bitcoin is inflation free.
Banks were invented to keep your money safe and to provide some small interest to fight the inflation.
Bitcoin alone fixes all these problems - it is payment processor, has storage potential and you can profit from holding.

I would have to pick bitcoin wallet. Bitcoin is the most beneficial for me at the moment. I can access it whenever I want and the transaction times are really low, much faster than waiting until the weekend is over to get a transaction through.

I would choose both, because the two are closely related , but if I prefer bitcoin , karane very simple as a transaction , especially if the cost of the transaction bitcoin is cut a little longer , everyone will choose bitcoin , and this is something extraordinary discovery in the present era .

Bitcoin = public, distributed ledger, with no self interested owners, thus trustless

I'll choose bitcoin over the traditional financial system any day

i hold all my money in bank though i have some in my blockchain wallet either

Yeah, we use both bitcoin wallet and bank. We keep our  bitcoin in bitcoin wallet after we change bitcoin to our currency then we keep it in bank. It is especially for me. I don't know if you not do that

I do it the other way around, change currency to bitcoin and keep it in bitcoin wallet.  Smiley I don't have the option to get paid in bitcoin, which is why I must use banks. Not because the service i good. Transactions taking more than 5 hours is normal for banks  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin has a fluctuating price, and it is highly volatile, so I would prefer bank.
Sometimes I can invest into bitcoin, and make some profit from my investment money, just because of Bitcoin's volatile nature. The fluctuation is a problem to some people and an advantage to some other people.

But in terms of using in real time both bank and bitcoin wallets are becoming almost same.
This is the reason I will choose Bitcoin wallet. Some Bitcoin wallets have launched their ATM service for bitcoin, like Coinbase, and with Xapo you can withdraw your bitcoin in form of cash through any ATM. Now enjoy all the benefits of bitcoin and using it same as bank ATM card.

What will I choose?

- If I had a choice I wont be using any bank, unfortunately it is unrealistic at this point as I have bank account for my to process bitcoin transactions.

Why are banks afraid?

- Bitcoin is their direct competitor force of nature which threatens their existence. More bitcoin users = less bank users.

Why banks are slow?

Banks can be fast with their standard processing methods - but you have to pay additional fees for instant transactions.

if banks start accepting bitcoin as payments then will it became a revolutionary for us?

Maybe, probably yes. But instead of this banks are opting for blockchain research.

With Bitcoin it's too much of a risk to rely on the private keys being held by someone else. I would say that even if it's fully regulated, you never know when the goverment is going to tell banks to start getting money ouf of the people's accounts for some bullshit reason which they can pass in congress as we've seen before.
