Currently you still need banks. Hopefully in the future its only blockchain technology and cryptocurency.

Unless a Bank of Bitcoin would be established. Such bank would offer checking and saving accounts with deposits and withdrawls made in Bitcoin. They would also offer Mortgage services and the ability to request loans. Security would be even better than ordinary banks (I think) as they would store your funds on cold storage with encrypted private keys. Just my opinion.  Grin

I think Xapo will go in this direction. Right now they don't offer enough services to be able to call it a "Bitcoin bank" but it's close. We still need all the special features a bank delivers. Personally I think being your own bank is still the coolest thing about Bitcoin but I understand that some people will be scared to be that responsible.

i would choose both because both of then have difference  bitcoin is risky we dont know what will happen in the future maybe it will drop or jump the price but the bank is always there not so risky for people.

totally choose bitcoin wallet...easy, smooth..and the transaction fee also low
bank have so many requirement...
yeah there is no age limit, so it is very easy in bitcoin wallet

unlike in the bank, at least we should have the identification

Bitcoin is money. That's how fiat works. Who doesn't like a legalization thru identification when claiming and receiving money. That's why Bitcoin is still not accepted by all country. I think if all the country in the world will accept bitcoin, identification is one of their priority. If all transaction is anonymous do you think we are safe? Let's say bitcoin money theft. It's hard to trace.
if all the country in the world will accept bitcoin, need identifiaction but in fact bitcoin does not need identity verification,
maybe if there is verification of identity in bitcoin, many members of which will come out

I don't use banks. I use cash and crypto for pretty much everything.

and how do you acquire cash? usually from atm, which mean that you have a card, which mean that you have a bank account

unless 1) you're payed directly with cash, i highly doubt that, 2) you're criminal or doing illegal stuff

Not everyone has debit or credit card, neither bank account.
2.5 Billion people in the world does not have bank accounts.
Cash to cash transaction are good if they are in short term locations, but for online it does not work.

i'm not counting 3world people those don't even need money they live with foods in the forest

also don't county children and so on, so form 2.5B you actually have a much lower number

If i can afford then i would go completetly in bitcoin.
But at the moment that is not possible, because most of things works through banks.
Even though the fees are much higher than bitcoin there is no other choice at the moment.
Yeah true, almost all the needs are still dependent on the existence of the bank
bitcoin users still quiet, so it is not yet supported

It all depends on which country you are living.
In U.S many big e-commerce shops have implemented the bitcoin payment method.
In some countries 99%+ of people does not know what bitcoin is so going completely bitcoin is risky depends where you live.

Well the difference I see is that there aren't much places to spend with only bitcoins, so converting to fiat is still necessary in most cases.

Bitcoin still has a long way to surpass what banks are currently doing and besides banks have more benefits in general than bitcoin and I will personally vouched that. Depends on the country and bank. I have my own funds in bank and somehow I have some in bitcoin too. Both has pros and cons so start using both of them. I see bitcoin will become truly success after 5 years "if" all country will accept it and will recognized by World Bank.

Both got their pros and cons, banks can freeze your money, get bankrupt so all your savings are gone, wallets are risky too, there are a lot of hackers around

Why pick one when you can take advantage of both. Banks have mass adoption on their side, btc wallet still hasn't from where I live. It's still a long way for me to use a btc wallet solely.
