Thanks for bringing it to our attention.Basic Attention Token is indeed an attention seeker coin.
It ranks 26 on the coinmarketcap and has increased 67% on Bittrex and I think this much information is quite enough to put some money on this coin.
This is what people will think at first. When i looked at the website i found some chinese page on its dev team page and when i looked at whois.com aboout the website it showed that the site was registered with Namecheap which accepts btc payment and the Admin details of the website were hidden. The site expires on february 2018. Clearly it shows that they are planning to scam people by hiding their identity.

Yes, the lead developer created Mozilla and Javascript, I believe. So right off the bat this BAT has enormous credibility, unlike many altcoins. Clearly there are inefficiencies in online advertising that need to be fixed. Because of the developer's credibility, he has ties to many big companies. I can easily see him getting many people onboard.

Also, security is a big deal. This browser is supposed to be very secure. I think BAT has a bright future, and it can easily go up 10x to 20x from here in the long run.

I think the main thing going for BAT right now is all the hype around the mozilla and javascript founder. I have used the brave browser and it's pretty good. It doesn't have much mention to BAT in the browser, they are separate things working together and currently BAT is still a work in progress and not being used in the browser yet. From what I see it needs major advertisers to get on board and pay for the BAT, then you can get rewards for giving your attention to certain ads. There is a function in the browser to upload money to support advertisers you like, who would do this I don't know. Seems once the BAT is being used in the browser it could go places but might not be until next year. And the brave browser is so good I'm sure it could get mass usage without the attion of BAT.

Tipping advertisers is weird. Advertisers make money getting people to use their products and services, why would I give them more money for viewing their ads? Honestly, ads are kind of a nuisance, I like the idea of getting paid (in a way) for sitting through them, but i can't imagine a world where I start thanking people for making me watch them.

Agreed!  I think Brave is a good browser but I'm surprised how little connectivity there is between BAT and Brave.  You even have to use BTC if you want to 'tip' sites you frequent... which is just crazy to me.  I invested in BAT, but now I wonder if I invested in the concept of BAT or the Brave browser?

My friend turned me onto this. I read the white paper and it seems like a cool idea.

I bought some because I think it's a solid plan, but I do have some reservations. From what I can gather, it seems like the token hinges on the idea that people also adopt the brave browser, which I have not checked out yet, though it's on my list of things to do. I like the idea of being awarded token based on the advertising content you view, but I'm not 100% clear on the amount you are actually awarded, one per ad? 100? I can't seem to find an answer to that, so if anyone knows please tell me.

All in all I like the idea.

Hi all, today I read something about the token Bat (Basic attention token) for the first time. The thing that struck me was that creator of BAT is Brendan Eich, the founder of Java and Mozilla! Why with such an important project I don't find any information here? Maybe is it a fake? Because it sounds me really interesting..
Thank you
