Flashy corporate like gimmicks and vague buzzwords are not what crypto-currencies are about quite frankly. A little more transparency with identity and a more robust outline of what you are trying to achieve would make you look less like some kind of ex Enron middle management type.

Has anyone looked into if this "new client" might create a fork situation yet? Probably not the case but my gut instinct feels like there is some kind of misleading motive behind this or even possibly a scam. I will let someone more informed in those kind of things be the judge of that anyway.

Either way, like others have pointed out, this little "debate" is damaging the reputation and integrity of the coin.
Yea that's what i'm wondering about. The client we have now is fine what BBQcoin needs is a mobile payment app. The guys at BBQcoin.com should put all their effort into that for now.

I inform you that someone (from bbqcoin.org surely) is attempting to DDoS our website. People will judge you by your actions and will know who are the real scammers... You are not credible anymore.

take it easy man.
so, why don't you post link to the source?

I will post the source shorlty. There is no virus, trojan or whatever. It's safe.

I am not too sure where this new client update has come from on BBQcoin.com, they do not even have a direct link to their source code.

We have nothing to do with this update, so download it at your own risk.

We are working the same now as we have been from the start, back when BBQcoin was worth nothing and not on any exchange.

Thanks.

bbqcoin.com even don't opens for now

Looks good!

Last time I checked there were multiple wallets for bitcoin. http://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet I don't see this as any different.

Lastly the ad hominem attacks toward BBQCoin.com are laughable. The argument that post count is the determiner for quality and professionalism is absurd. If you don't like what they are doing than do something else better. Don't piss on their work to make your work appear better.

We can work with anyone but I won't waste my time in arguing with negative people who don't want to work with us. We have received many messages of support and we'll continue our work.

Just one thing, the market and the people will decide where to go in the end...

Who is we? As right now, nobody knows.

We don't even know who you are or even if you own BBQcoin.com

BBQcoin.com - Date Registered on BTCTalk: May 17, 2013, 08:18:27 PM

Your account is not even a month old and you are doing this?

We have released an important update to the BQC client.

The download link is here:
http://www.bbqcoin.com/download-bbqcoin

What's New

  • Easy Installation with Setup Wizard
  • stable DNS seed pointed to bbqcoin.com
  • unique feature: chat through a link directly in bbqcoin-qt (this will be useful if you need help)

We are professional developers with experience, we take over the project management to drive the project to success. BBQcoin.com is the Official Website for this release. Our next project coming soon will be a universal mobile app to spend money at restaurants or whatever...

No, you are not taking over the project management. Official site is and will always be bbqcoin.ORG . Don't confuse new users, it will not do any good for the value of BQC

Here we go, BBQ Wars Episode I (or should it be IV? Hmmm).

I kinda knew this was coming. I think I will stick with CaptChadd and bbqcoin.org. He put a lot of effort into bringing this coin from the dead, we owe him that. And you guys trying to make a hostile takeover kinda makes me want to stay away from anything you guys do.

By the way, where is the source code? How do we know this is not a trojan?

I don't want to start a war, I just want to drive bbqcoin to success like you. His website is not professional and it received many negative coments, the client is outdated, there is no stable seed... and bbqcoin is losing credibility.

We want to propel the project, and we can work together if he wants to work with us and not against us...

The source code will be available on the website.

Ok great then contact CaptChadd and work together on this. You have to understand all of the work he has put into reviving this coin, by doing what you are doing it is kind of like you are trying to take over. The BBQcoin.org website looks great now so that argument is null and void. The client is not outdated, it was just updated a few weeks ago. If something needs to be fixed then the appropriate thing to do would be to contact CaptChadd and offer to help to update it. Also, by not posting the source code it does look a bit scammy (especially as an exe). You are only going to confuse new users by doing a separate release.

I am all for promoting the coin in any way possible but I think we could go a lot farther by working together and not acting like you are the new developers.

That sounds like a hostile takeover to me.

I don't want to sound like the devil's advocate, but it's free to anyone to make a new client for Bitcoin, LTC, FTC, BBQ or just any coin he/she likes Smiley

CaptChadd is a great guy, doing great things, but I don't think we can/should prevent this Smiley

But working together would be smart Smiley
i agree.. i really like what both are doing and if they were to combine their efforts that'd be awesome (especially if they could agree on how to)

I do agree that anyone can make any changes they want but to come from nowhere and say that they are taking over project development?

What about building some kind of reputation on this forum first? Show people more about who you are.

The BBQcoin.com website has only been around a short period of time and only since BBQcoin has been worth something, even worse the BBQcoin.com BTCTalk account is brand new, don't they need to build basic trust on the forum first before becoming self proclaimed BBQcoin developers?

I have been running the bbqcoin.org website and with other great people to get the coin where it is now but I cannot do that and have to fight against this other website at the same time, its just a waste of energy.

Also nobody has messaged me saying they were planning to release an update, which does not build trust at all.

As of now BBQcoin.com is doing their thing and we are doing ours, the users can choose who to trust.

I run BBQcoin.org but I never tell people what to do or download, I can only advise, just like I have started to do in my You Tube videos.

I agree with you there but the key point you made is that it would be smart to work together.

I have never said that I own BBQcoin, that is not possible with a Crypto-Currency.

The difference between bbqcoin.org, that I run and BBQcoin.com is that I started and paid for my website when BBQcoin was worth nothing and then you and your site turns up just as it gets onto the three exchanges.

Also why should anyone trust you on here with a brand new BTCTalk account?

Where have you come from?

What's your past projects?

And bbqcoin.org has just had the website changed and has received positive feedback and also the client was only just updated by our dev team two months ago.

IMHO the only thing BBQcoin.com promotes is its own restaurant and nothing else.

You cannot say it does not seem strange that a website appears with 1 restaurant (the ice cream side, part of the same place) and having them say they take BBQcoin as payment and now suddenly that website makes a client update?

This is almost like if I were to take Bitcoin.co.uk and then suddenly [ANN] that I have made a Bitcoin client update with a chat function, don't you think?

Not going to get involved in any war as I'm not part of anything, but calling bbqcoin.com scammers without any proove seems harsh.

Yes, CaptChadd made and makes big efforts to promote the coin.

Does this make him the owner of the coin? Does this give him the exclusive right to promote the coin, or start the only site with bbqcoin in it's name? No.

If anything, he should be grateful that there is extra publicity. Any news is good news right?
