Is there a war running?
I mean... I've been interested in cryptonote's protocol, but man... that's a lot of reading.

Monero and boolberry are carrying on the cryptonote protocol now, nothing really to see here besides a few sockpuppets spewing the same lines over and over again.

No, just boys pushing a shit-clone called Monero.

Don't you know the difference between a clone and a fork?  You must be new here.   Smiley

Dash is a clone of Bytecoin.  Monero, Boolberry, and DarkNote are forks of Bytecoin.

If you have to resort to intentionally using the wrong word for something, it's probably because your argument was specious to begin with.

He is technically correct in calling Monero a clone of Bytecoin. There is not a shred of evidence, despite the Monero fanatics spewing their bile, that Monero has added any thing of material benefit to the cryptonote reference coin - BYTECOIN.  Cheesy

It is specious, but mostly he's just doing his job.

They are paid shills, quite obviously. Nobody would be even posting on this dead coin were it not for some external motivation. Who they hell would be a "fan" of a near-dead coin trading a few satoshis after a failed attempt at an 82% fraudulent premine. That defies logic. Egor their are paid shills. The fact that its the same few dozen nicks that have been posting almost since the whole "look what I found!" charade makes it more obvious.

The concerning part is that the scammers behind this have not been caught and likely learned from this failed attempt and are trying again (perhaps more than once). What are their other scams?

BCN lovers

BCN lovers?

Really now.

If you want the controversy to stop then come clean about the premine, sock puppets, and the rest of the scamming. Otherwise, trying to hide behind censorship will not help you, it will only make matters worse.

Once this thread was informative and helpful. Now I get the impression that >90% of this could be deleted without any loss of info. I don´t care who fights for what coin, I just want to stay tuned to what´s going on technically and organisationally. Now I somewhat find it hard to look at this. My suggestion is: Start a special thread for fighting and don´t ruin this thread anymore. In other words: Don´t fight in the public, please.

I think, it would be great to consider your suggestion to make thread less cluttered from unnecessary fighting for/against the coin.
I don't see any problems for people who'd like to discuss their preferences to do it anywhere else. I also support view that the main mission for the thread is to inform people about news and talk about problems/hash rates/ pools and other things but not to argue what coin is better or worse

[a bunch of lies]

speaks volumes doesn't it?

It would if it were true. But little if anything you guys have ever posted has been the truth.

No worries, though, you still get your shill paycheck from the boss.

If your coin was worth more than a satoshi or two, you'd be hated for faking a blockchain, forging signed documents, lying about an 82% premine, and operating and army of sock puppet shills (some outed, the rest not outed yet). But since it isn't, nobody cares. Too bad (not).

Why is your boss even still paying you?

smooth: please I think all, who read this thread, know what your opinion is. Please could you stop if the BCN lovers are not able to stop this meaningless conversation. That can not even be read.
Thank you. Wink

No, just boys pushing a shit-clone called Monero. The most hated coin on BCT-ALT. You know, The one copied from Bytecoin and with nothing new except a broken gui client and lots of irritating spammers and trolls.

If you don't believe - check out the above post. They are happier here trolling ByteCoin than in their own shitcoin threads

Also, you will find ByteCoin Devs happily answering questions on this thread without jumping on other coin threads and trolling. You also see Monero Devs on this forum with their sour grape trolling - speaks volumes doesn't it?

This so-called "proof" proof of the BCN scam has been refuted lied about several times by sock puppets such as this one.

FYP.

Oh BTW, Hi Cheesus! Long time no see.

I thought about that... And I agree with @Cheesus

Why does this not surprise me? Let me think....hmm. Umm.

Oh yeah, that's right! Because you are both BCN shills?

Oh wait. Who was that doing the so-called "refuting" that our friend Hexah/Cheesus mentioned?

This so-called "proof" has been refuted several times: ... here.

Yet another sock puppet! I'd think you idiots would at least retire the obvious sock-puppet accounts by now. We're not stupid guys, really we're not.

What may be the causes of "Key image already spent in blockchain" error? I got case of a wallet which showed 5,000,000 before reset, then after reset balance goes to ~2,000,000. After reset the balance is still unspendable and it returns the same error.

Can you elaborate on this? Did you send any transactions during the process?
1 of 10 transaction passed actually. Now the wallet is up from 1.9M to 4.9M (after a new reset).. Still got the same error when there is attempt to transfer funds.

- How did you obtain the Bytecoin distributables back then?

If memory serves, Tor4chan. That is the one I was on the most talking on a Bitcoin thread. Though there were others (BTC that is not Bytecoin in my experience)

- Was there open-source code available on the darknet, or precompiled binaries?

I got my binaries from an onion link on the thread. There was some discussion about a new coin and my interest was piqued due to the new code (not BTC) and anonymity. They were 32bit linux binaries. I honestly can't remember if there was source available.

- Where did you find the code/binaries, and do you still have any of those early copies kicking about anywhere?

Sure. They are on my old tails stick. As mentioned a few of us downloaded the binaries on the link and discussed Bytecoin in the BTC thread. The instructions were in the same post as the link.

- Were there any darknet forums or sites where like-minded individuals could discuss and/or trade bytecoin, and if so where?

Trading didn't cross my mind and, as far as I know, wasn't discussed on the thread. I didn't look for any other forums - I am certain this took place on one thread only and in one forum, for me. I cannot comment on the possibility that this was the one and only thread or discussion at the time! That would explain some of the ire on this forum!  Smiley

- Was it just solo mining or was there any pool mining available?

The only mining I ever did (or heard of) was through the wallet > daemon. It was described on the post with the link.

- When viewkeys are implemented, would you be willing to share the viewkey of the address you were mining to back in late 2012? To validate your claims.

I don't know what that is but I don't see why not - I am guessing if I move my coins afterwards they then anonymised again?

I'm genuinely interested in your answers here!

thank you for keeping it civil!  Wink

Your other questions were interesting for digging into the matter. Expect vague answers or non-answers.

However, this one won't work because the blockchain is fake. Assuming he has an actual wallet (or can get one) it would have coins from a block that say they are from 2012, but we know that to be fake. There is no difference between a fake blockchain and fake coins visible with a View Key (once implemented).
