If you read the last few comments you see that thankfull_for_today is busy with this. Also this coin was written from scratch so it needs time for developing a clone as its not based on bitcoin's codebase and there is not much documentation about it (yet)

I'm surprised someone hasn't started a clone for a fairer distribution and active development.

I did a quick translation of the emission to a graph, the red block shows where we are now.



Like you said, the value of this coin depends for +80% on the community that kept this coin out of the clearweb for the last 2 years. Also its possible we will never find out the true value of this coin or a economy where these coins can be used. Its also possible a new bubble will arise because of a strong anonymous community controlling this coin. So atm we can really go both ways.


I can help you with seed nodes and translating stuff to Dutch and Polish, also a forum shouldn't be a problem. I will help where i can if time will allow me to do so

Is this good or bad? It's a tricky question. It depends a lot on people holding these 82% of all coins. They can use them to establish the infrastructure for example.

Next week I will start my own fork of Bytecoin - another coin based on CryptoNote technology. It will be started from scratch (from block zero). I will write an anouncement today ot [ANN] subforum. Emission schedule will be more flat and block target will be reduced to 60 sec.

I need help from:

- web dev - there is a huge number of works:
  - official site and forum
  - block explorer
  - merchant integration sites
- designer - a cool logo is required
- dedicated machine owners - in order to setup seed nodes
- techwritters / translators - to translate announcement to other languages
- C++ developers - to create a cool GUI wallet

Yeah, I know that this is to shady to be easily trusted, but if you believe that it shouldn't be priced even at 1 satoshi = 1 BCN, then current otc trades are an arbitrage, and you can sell an asset for higher price. I understand your attitude, but we have only some theories and almost no facts, all which can be perceived as either good or bad. There are transactions in the block chain, which is a good indicator for me. We've only found one website on the Tor network. How many more there can be?

There should definitely be more CN-coins, and I'm sure we'll see them. But there is none we're aware of at the moment, so I stick to BCN.

It doesn't make any more sense than the Cicada theory, I guess. I haven't seen that CN team was blaming BCN for anything. I guess they're not interested in this whole community and ecosystem thing, so they're wanting to make CryptoNote available to others. Or maybe they even want to have different playgrounds to push their experiments to. We can only guess at this time, but I couldn't find any bad attitude to BCN in their writings.

I got a feeling that we've potentially stumbled upon a story of the year. There should be an economy somewhere with this coin, which might emerge out of nowhere anytime (deep web maybe?) I got what you're saying with 1% of the market and the actual price of BCN, but what if it would turn out to be just another way around and their economy is strong, which would finally increase the exchange rate?

BCN is definitely slowly emerging, and by the time it is fully out I personally want to make sure that I've mined enough bytecoins.

I realized why I'm not really into Cicada conspiracy. If this is a website for the community members (speaking about onion site), it doesn't make sense to put any riddles there. What's more, the way the pgp message was decoded is not very smart for its authors, but it however took us days to crack it. I wonder if midi decryption will show anything.

I'm still skeptical about Cicada connection. It doesn't make any sense. Were they actually looking for the people for their community? Are there any more projects, which will appear in the future? It is very strange indeed. Will try to find something more.

Well, started digging just a bit,
There are 2 music files on bytecoin.org - music.ogg and music.mp3
I tried to play with different TAG extractors and found out this TAG under music.ogg title:

Seems to be coded phase with 5 words.
That is just 3 min research on that files, maybe that is nothing, but that`s getting more and more interesting, so i will keep searching.

According to observations difficulty changes very quickly (see difficulty charts above). Today diff is 476000, 24 hours behind it was 660000. So it looks like claimed targets are met.

Bytecoin will definitely shake the market.
But there are lots of things to do for you, guys.

Some questions about Bytecoin:
Is there any compiled Mac version of Bytecoin?
Is there any GUI client and wallet in one installation?
Is there any working/developing bytecoinJ impementations and lite clients based on it -- sync with blockchain is really slow --.

Some questions about Bytecoin network and mining:
How difficulty adjusting algo works on practice - does Bytecoin has really 2 min average block time?
Can we mine it with modern ARM?
When do we expect (TIME) to reach 100000BCN, 10000 BCN, 1000 BCN and 100 BCN per block reward?

Is there any developers, not involved in Bytecoin and Cryptonote developing process, but, already developing any side services, like blockchain explorers (if we do have something to explore), mobile apps, light wallets, exchanges, etc?
