So many red in the street of crypto now as btc is pushing up again and if on hold any bad alts at the moment , then the person is gone for a good with all his funds as they are surging in USD but dumping in btc value, why so many will not even see the light of the day any more.
Of course, it is good to stay cautious especially on the type of coins an investor holds. Not all the altcoins are capable of surviving on the market because some of the coins may lack what it takes for a coin to succeed. yes really true we need to be more careful in this type of situation when the Crypto market not very well and holding is very difficult in this situation because our mindset will change in each and every situation while the value is not going well 1 days sometimes a value not also we cannot do with the so be careful on what we are investing 
now only coins that are potentially and truly maintained by a team that can be top of the coinmarketcap. because now there are many coins left and become junk coins and removed from many exchanges. so before making long-term hold, you should be more careful in choosing the altcoin
That's right before engaging to any long term project you need to learn more about the future of the coins, it's hard and very tough but onceyou find the right coin to invest then you'll get a huge benefits as there's always a good chance for the projects to bounce up and make things
better just needs to wait and make things better again inside the market.
It is true ,there are too many coins from suspisious projects on the market, I prefer investing my money only in solid projects with a honest CEO and a good team.
If we can, we should stay away from projects that don't yet have so much trust because this is very risky. and also the trading volume is still low because there are currently so many projects like this and in the end have experienced a substantial price decline

Not only BTC. ETH, LTC, XLM, NEO ... these are the best altcoin and it will grow with BTC. In my assessment, in this market in the next 5-10 years, only a few altcoin will be truly alive. And they are altcoin in the current top 10

Some projects really surprise me as to how they turn out to be shit within a very short time. We need to be very careful with the coins we hold, if you don't believe much in a project, convert the coin to a more stable one instead of holding a coin that will turn out to be shit.
Sometimes some projects will quickly fall sharply after being pumped after listed exchange. And then some traders not holders did not escape big losses as they suddenly dropped sharply, making them invisible to become holders.

This is absolutely true. We have to be extremely careful with the altcoins we choose to hold for long term as many will be dead after a long time. Be very sure the team is capable and devoted to ensure the project vision is achieved and also check the development progress. If there is no development for long, it's a red flag.
To be honest; I regret hodling most of my altcoins for long. They should be sold as soon a possible.

You should not keep more than ~25% from your holdings in altcoins.
Crypto market is cyclical, bull and bear periods will come, but overall altcoins will not behave better than Btc on longterm.
You need to keep your assessment continuously there's always a cycle and if you able to work with it, holding can still be good for your investment, it's the timing that needs to learned in order to be able to be compensated, with every moves that you take and every decisions that you will going to choose, you need to be careful not to be trapped it's your obligations to keep trying to benefits with you assets. I do not dare to hold a new coin with a very long time, if the price in my opinion is good, I immediately sell. I have a few coins dead because I hold too long.

for altcoin I think there is no obligation to hold long-term holdings. because right now it's better to hold altcoins that have the potential to be like ethereum, so when holding a hold I think I have to be more careful than getting a big loss.

for altcoin I think there is no obligation to hold long-term holdings. because right now it's better to hold altcoins that have the potential to be like ethereum, so when holding a hold I think I have to be more careful than getting a big loss. 
Beejng careful is just an understatement. I don't hold coins now unless I see something valuable about the project that will make me hold such coin. The only coijn I can confidently and comfortably hold is Bitcoin or Ethereum. I can remember holding a coin that uptil today is my biggest regret.
investment problems with any digital currency, of course, confidence and patience are very necessary capital and as investors must be able to take advantage of every opportunity that will be obtained in investing with our chosen coins.
You just said it all. Always check where the community are and the kind of discussion going on. Some projects really don't worth your headache.
In my opinion, the cryptocurrency market is so risky and unpredictable that the most correct strategy is to make a profit for short periods of time. In the long run, many tokens can change their position in the rating lists several times or disappear altogether.
