Many times issues like this has been ironed in the forum and we have been advised on the need to always run a Cross check of the wallet address we are sending crypto to. Some people due to the fact that wallet addresses contains too many combinations of both letters and figures, they feel so reluctant to cross check it before sending crypto but whatever thing that involves money need to ne handled with care and precaution. Sometimes you may make mistakes by not copying the whole characters in an address and if you don't check properly then your funds are gone so we should be very vigilant whenever we are performing any transactions using wallet addresses.

Normally dis na something wey everybody wey dey run crypto mata supposed don know since say transactions for crypto no be something wey you go just do anyhow because any mistake wey you make go means say you dey loose money and you gats dey very careful make your money no just waste and you no go fit trace am go anywhere, no be like bank transfer wey you go say you go fit trace am go the bank where the money go so na something wey you just get to dey very careful.

When you wan make transfer na to check the address two times, no dey every dey in a rush to make transection because e go make you fit make mistakes, always try to put your eyes down whenever e b say you wan transact maske you not go do the wrong thing com loose money.

It is not advisable to Carry out transaction when you are still on bed or when you are about to sleep because, your face will not be too clear for you to confirm some things in your transition which are some of the things that make some people to send coins to wrong address.

I have learned lesson from many people that experienced such issues in the past, that is making me to cross check the address like 3 times before I will press send and, it has been helping me to make any transaction I embark on to be successful which is the best feedback everyone want to experience from his or her transactions.

What a loss, but in this regards crypto would have added this feature of returning mistaken money. Everyone is bound to make mistake. It should be recoverable in cases like this. That is how I came across a post yesterday saying that the first man in Nigeria to own bitcoin lost a huge amount of money to erroneous transfer where he will seeing the transaction everyday but can't recover the money.
At the time my mentor was buying some coin for me, you have to see how will was repeatedly checking the copied address against the original address to be sure.  knowing quit well that if he makes mistake, it is gone.

Bitcoin chief abi wetin be him name again lost a huge sum of money because he mistakenly send some crypto to a contract address instead of a wallet and him been dey beg the founder to help am out. I no know how that matter end as I no following am up but this goes to show how risky the industry is. Me I dun lose money before as I send coin to the wrong address, e fit happen to anybody but that my mistake makes me dey careful the more and na so e supposed dey for the industry make we no go lose our hardwork.
The thing be say na only experience nai be the best teacher and na until some persons experience this loss nai dem go come know say the thing dey pain well well because me sef don experience this kind matter before although mine na different case but e still involved the lose of coin. My own na mistake wey i do for forgetting to check the particular CEX deposit minimum so I come send below the minimum na the funds loss about 10$, although na small change but Omo na who e reach nai go know how painful the matter be.

Please always be careful and always do any transaction with cautious, crypto might disciving you that the amount you loss might be small in your eyes but ones you turn it to our Nigeria currency Omo you go know say nor be small money you loss so ma people make we try our best to keep our asset safe.

Even recently something like this happen and the matter is been sorted out. A gambler wan use Binance exchange deposit 1 ETH for him BC.Game account, him go mistakenly send 1wBBTC ($71,000) to the ETH deposit address and the coin no dey supported for BC.Game. The luck wey him get be say, dem fit recover the fund back.

E get mistakes wey we suppose dey try to avoid and this one na one of them. E get money wey you go lose due to your carelessness, you fit no get yourself. So like this whenever person wan run any transaction make sure say him dey in the right frame of mind, say him no dey under pressure or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Also make him cross check the address before clicking send.

If dem make Bitcoin reversible without the consent of the other party e go spoil everything wey Bitcoin be so that suggestion no follow at all instead na for we to make sure say we dey carry eye follow our transactions well before we confirm am. As we dey this industry so na we be our own bank and any decisions wey we take and how e affects us we support accept am like that and work on not making mistakes.

Mistakes na normal something to happen so if you wan send big money transactions you fit divide the transactions into fractions to avoid losing all funds if you make mistakes when you they send am one time and always verify addresses before you send out transactions.

My fellow naija board greet you all!

This post  actually for everyone because no one can outgrown mistakes. Was just on my WhatsApp there's I joined back then concerning airdrop and other paying update so the admin of the group posted a screenshot a friend sent to him, in the group. So the screen shot was a conversation between him and a friend, his friend where telling him how he received 6 BnB which worth $1819.5 from a unknown wallet. And was doing the day ETF was approved so coin undergo a surge that moment so the price was bigger than now. You can see that the amount is not a small amount of money. The thing is that I'm pretty sure that the person that send that BnB made a mistakes in its public key (wallet address) when was doing the transaction. Just imagine cash you work for hours, days, or months you just lose it in a blink of a seconds sending it to a wrong address if it was normal bank he would have ask for refund but I don't think if cryptocurrencies transaction still work  that way.

Please always be careful and always do any transaction with cautious, crypto might disciving you that the amount you loss might be small in your eyes but ones you turn it to our Nigeria currency Omo you go know say nor be small money you loss so ma people make we try our best to keep our asset safe.
As e just be so,as the country hard, everyone should just be conscious when it comes to money and transaction.because any slight mistake can cause a lot of regret and loss.imagine involving in a p2p where you don’t confirm payment slip and you just release coin due to network or persistent of the vendor should be noted,a lot of people have been scammed through this means.

True, for this life we dey so. Person need to dey extra careful in doing things not just transaction, for me I don really suffer for this life in the hands of scammers, I dey always fall victim until my eye open, no be small thing for this life o, especially if network dey worry, make person no do transaction o because na  that kind time dem dey always monitor person, like when I been dey work for person for POS ( point of sale), I come do transaction for person and e come withdraw money, network dey worry sha and I think say as e own don work, I come think say the network don work but after e withdraw go, dem come reverse am back to am, na just I come pay for wetin I no even know about, and another person come also do fake alert etc, but last last I come wise up.

Another man's loss is another man's gain. I bet your friend did the right thing sha.
Make we try dey triple check before confirming any transactions or withdrawal, because many of the times if we don click, we no fit unclick or as well as if we don do the mistake, na only crocodile tears go end am. Ensure say you get better network too, because network glitch fit make person loose guard to double confirm a transaction.

Not your keys, not your coins: This dey very important for those wey also dey use wallet. Try ensure you keep your key phrases safe from mostly those wey dey acquainted with you, and try keep am for where you self go remember because if e loss, na sorry go end am o.

My brother no be lie oo, for this crypto space, any mistakes you make about money just forget am because e don go, so for that reason nai make we surpose they extra careful especially when sending funds, and the idea of typing the wallet address wey you wan send am to, it's very important say we stop, because by typing we have that tendency of making mistakes, so the best thing to do na to copy and paste, so that all this kind costly mistake, we fit avoid am.

It's a good reason for one to always cross check his or her transaction before approving it, if the transaction happens to be a mistake that means the owner must be suffering from Trojan virus or clipboard virus that are always responsible for changing ones addresses.

Bitcoin transaction or cryptocurrency at large transactions are more of risk and anyone trying to take this risk should do it with caution. Having in mind that is any thing goes wrong he or she would be accountable for that mistake. Cryptocurrency transactions are not reversible so one must be careful before dash out our assets to people who didn't work for it.

It only takes a big firm to get reverse in this case and that means all funds sent to a wrong address is gone and nothing can be done about it. Perhaps the content of the thread is a nice idea.

That's the reason for it being a very complex and decentralized network because if transaction were to be backtracked because if transactions were to be reversed then it would simply means that it can be traceable I guess and it would remove the anonymity behind Bitcoin transactions. For anything it should teach it users a send of carefulness because mistake is something that isn't welcomed in a Bitcoin transaction.

No reversibility of a transaction doesn’t mean it will be reduce anonymity. The address from which the transaction was send from is visible in the blockchain and can be seeing just by everyone. The only way that it will expose one’s anonymity is when it is connected to another address which must have been known to belong to a person, that also cannot be gotten from the mere address details but if it’s link to a KYC exchange and the details of the person is given out by the exchange which we all know is not somewhat easy to get.

The issue that bitcoin transactions been reversible will cause is that it will increase more scam like people reversing legitimate transactions done to the right address after making a payment. So far now the act of it been irreversible is way better because the investors that sends to a wrong address should bear the loss himself.

Yeah is a common mistake in this space , few days back one use from this our local board post about how someone transfer his $90k contract wallet instead of kucoin see the link https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-chief-loses-over-136-million-naira-through-errorneuos-transfer-5489178 see nor be small money be that ohh like this BnB own nah person received am so you still use style better person life (still dey careful). But e own nah. Contract address that mean them nor go fit recover am again is far gone . That we need to always double check before sending any coin or token to any one.

Once you make mistake, your money don go. As @ DaNNy001 Tay talk am, you no supposed dey write wallet address for any reason. That na why every wallet design the copy and paste button. This one go help you reduce the risk of writing wrong address and loss your money. Well I understand the fact that no one is above error and thats why it's always good to copy the address of whom you want to send to and simply paste it and moreover you can't just write someone wallet address your without making mistake. I don't think I have seen people make mistake like this anymore at a large ratio because I think error message will pop up if the address you want to send to has a mistake especially with Bitcoin transaction I have faced such error times without number especially when you mistook one coin address for another.

I think maybe the person sent through internally from an exchange maybe he sent to the wrong ID number especially when it comes to binance exchange transaction it's so very easy to make such mistake and send to another person wallet, I know this cause I almost did it once if not for the fact that am always vigilant and always crosscheck the reference to where am sending my coins, I wouldn't accidentally gifted someone free USDT coins of worth 80$.

OP your very correct as they always said no body is above mistake no means say one should not apply caution to avoid it. It very important to check properly anytime one is doing any transaction the wallet address he/she is sending the token or money, this have been some issue most people have been too fast without proper confirmation of wallet during transaction. No body losses what he /she never planned of will be happy about it. The best ways to avoid such occurance is to avoid rush and check properly, because is better to do it write than doing it wrong and sorting for means of correction, even if such process of correction is made available time loss can't be regain. One may say is just small money the reason is just to console h/herself  but deep down have emotional effect of loss. The only way to avoid it is proper check of wallet during the process of transaction.
