It was my understanding that begging for free coins was against the rules. Must not be.

That being said....

If you have Ripples that you are not going to use. I would be happy to take them off your hands.

Well shit...beggars can't afford to not throw their names in a hat, and as this is roughly my 5th attempt at posting one of these addresses...Bitcoin, ripple, xrp...liberty, blah...my head is spinning, has made me feel rather foolish...though luckily for the moment, it's of the Motley variety.

I tried to add some bitcoins to the ripple through bitstamp.

I sent 1BTC to bitstamp, but when I try to send them to my ripple address, it say I must trust bitstamp with at least 1BTC. But my ripple account is empty, how can I add bitcoins to my account?

My ripple address is rK95oNJio1i5PnP6evCAoN7ktKNnFV9Td8 in case of someone will want to help me with some XRP

pm me, send me 0.1 BTC I will send you 300XRP

I read about this ripple thingie and it looks promising.... I also like the idea of IOUs Smiley

OK, I got to https://ripple.com and created my wallet and I have my address:
rHJdB4rAg3msLzdwUZfVVP9tpd3uvgK1Cm
which is empty for now.

What's next? I didn't get the connection between https://www.bitstamp.net/ and Ripple. Does BitStamp accept XRPs that can be traded with Bitcoins or Fiat? And one last thing... Are XRPs mined or what?
I'm sure both of the answers are mentioned somewhere, but TBH I was too eager (or impatient if you prefer) to get to know Ripple better Smiley

XRP are "pre-mined" and issued by the central entity OpenCoin with a total number of, iirc, 100 billion XRP.
