Of course you can get addicted. Unless you only gamble occasionally and don't have big expectations. For example, I'm only gambling for fun, I have no goals associated with gambling and I mostly do sports betting.

There are many good casinos being promoted on the forum but since you wouldn't share the names of the casino, whichever you decide to go for, I'd advise that you make sure it has a good trust rating. Also, as a beginner you should set aside a gambling budget which you'd be using for the week or month to help keep you in check. Stake with what you can afford to lose and when you're having a bad day, stop playing and take a break. Don't chase after your losses.

Anything we are doing, we need to make sure that we take precautions to prevent us from becoming an addicted gambler which could pose serious harm to us. Actually, I don't know whether the OP is really a beginner, or he just wants to have an opinion and wants to know the various responses from the community. referring to what you said, OP has actually prepared a low budget. I will interpret it, if he doesn't want to play excessively. because, he knows the risks and that's why he asks, whether it will impact his real life. So, it is not certain that he is easily addicted and finds out too late that he has crossed his limit. moreover, which leads to addiction. So my advice to the OP, do what you want to do. but with the condition, OP must be ready and bear the risk. Ideally, play with funds you can afford.

Well that's right, basically whatever type of gambling you do there will still be two answers at the end which are winning and losing, so even if for example you choose sports betting to be able to get more wins with the skills you have it still ultimately refers to luck as well which will ensure it. There is no significant difference between purely luck-based gambling and skill-based gambling, it's all the same in the end.

So it is true as you said we should not take all gambling seriously because the risk can never be completely avoided there, it is better to gamble normally with a small budget and also with low expectations, it will prevent you from real addiction.

I guess @TimeTeller really understands that part, but still believes people have a better chance of winning on sportbetting than other forms of games, but to me all forms of gambling always have the same winning possibility, although their are ones, where the chance of winning is highly dependent on luck, as the possibility of winning is 0-1, but then again their are matches, which appear to look like a fixed match on the sportbook, but at the end of the day the game result always turns out the opposite direction. 
 
It's just someone who has not really been disappointed in gambling with games, which they think they're 100% accurate, that will take the gambling business very serious thinking. There is something called the sure game, even with the lowest of the games, still happens to not play as we predict most times. Our skill and luck help us win the game most times, but our skill and luck can't keep the winning coming all the time. There are times for disappointment, which gambling is always ready to give us that, whenever we give it our all.

Even if it's sportsbetting , their is no guarantee or certainty of sure Wins. When I first wanted to try out casinos just to see whether I could win something I didn't think whether I could be addicted to it. And I don't think I am after a few years. I don't see users get addicted to casinos when they start online. Addicted users I think started offline and ventured online which they got worse. If you started online, I see less chance of it happening.
