With all the noise created in the altcoin section it is really hard to figure what coins are promising, especially since the vast majority are just clones.

There are some interesting ones out there but the one that seems definitely the most promising at the moment is NEM.

Main reason being:
- Impressing technical aspects: 100% innovation written from scratch with new PoI algorithm and many very promising features. This innovation makes it more energy efficient, scalable and sustainable over time.
- Most fair distribution and best beginning of any coin. The coin has not even been launched yet but there are around 3000 stakeholders waiting to get their hands on the coin and do whatever it takes to get this to the next level.
- Brilliant dev team and great community. The dev team is putting a lot of hard work into every step of the development process and the results are already visible. The community is rapidly growing and is full of talent waiting to contribute to this interesting experiment.
- There will be no inflation for this coin since all the coins will be distributed at the beginning. So as the new features are unveiled and the coin gets more traction because of all the value it creates, price will probably skyrocket.

This is no get rich quick scheme or pump and dump coin. This is an interesting and long term project with an immense potential to become very big.

But don't trust me for my word, do your own research, make your own choice and see you in the NEM community.

P.S. Seems the price for a stake will maybe be somewhere north of 5 btc/stake right after the launch. As more people become aware of this New Economy Movement and its great potential you can guess what will happen.

Update: I will add that this coin will probably be competing hard with Nxt(which is very interesting and promising as well) but will have the enormous advantage of a fair and well organized distribution which could prove instrumental.

NEM is my best bet. I see a lot if potential as it will greatly improve upon the features of nxt. I can't see a bitcoin clone being very relevant long term. The only true competitors to bitcoin are going to be coins that are truly considered part of a new generation.

EMU is a pump and dump - the continuous increase in coins as a whale defense also devalues all other holdings.

You may have missed that all the other holdings gain interest on their holdings proportional to the increase of emu in the market.

portfolio 60% BTC and BTC clones
40% BTC 2.0

Which coin you name BTC 2.0?

MSC XCP NXT EMU ETH

MSC have admitted their implementation is flawed
XCP is stumped by the fact that bitcoin have removed half the storage they needed in the blockchain.

EMU is a pump and dump - the continuous increase in coins as a whale defense also devalues all other holdings.

My picks for 2.0 coins, NXT, NEM and maybe ETH - all PoS - put aside distribution its about technology, innovation and community / following, NXT and NEM both have these, ETH have an interesting stakeholder list but community I am not sure and this is why I dont list XRP.

Absolutely NO BTC derivatives whatever the parameters - BTC technology is v1.0 and like all v1.0 its flawed, both MSC and XCP sit on 1.0 tech.

yeah, lets hope that BCNext creates a new and better coin, so that we have a good competitor against NXT and BTC!

Who cares about a clone of a premined coin with a stupid name? Who cares about NEM?

Also I don't understand why anyone other than an original stakeholder would have any incentive to buy into NEM after it has launched? Isn't it basically a premine distributed "fairly" to 3000 people who then hope to rope in others to sell their coins to?

Heavycoin is definitely a great choice (I don't own any by the way). All X11 coins are a definite contender as well.

Seriously though I think Flappeh will be the next DOGE.

Lots of recognition, tons have been bought at rock bottom prices. I think some large holder will pump the coin up 4-10x its current price then sell his holdings.
