If I were you, I'd look into Worldcoin (WDC). It's traded on like 6 exchanges (mcxnow.com being the largest volume) and it has huge support behind it. Development is active, people are building new sites and services at all times, and it has gone from a $100k to $1.5m market cap in the last 2 months.

Benefits:

fast, 30 second block time, 1 minute confirmation time (compared to bitcoin's 10/30 minute block times/confirmation times)
reward that is decreasing 1% weekly to reward early adopters but not distance middle-road adopters.
great community on irc at irc.freenode.net, channel #worldcoin
WDC will have a USD to WDC exchange built out with a beta released on December 20th, 2013 - scharmbeck.com

If you have any questions about it, please stop by our irc channel. You can use a web-based irc client on the Worldcoin Foundation website to get connected:  http://worldcoinfoundation.org/contact

Its likely the in the long run no alt coin will out preform bitcoin.

I disagree, I think medium term bitcoin is going to dominate. But long term it's just another crypto and not really the best.
The way I see things ending up is there are many intermediaries like paypal, dwolla, something else etc, that mediate between cryptos and businesses.
Each coin supported by an intermediary would only be like 1% extra work (probably much less), so then people can pay in whatever crypto they want, the business gets cash and the intermediary handles all the conversions, security etc.
But then when you look at this situation what makes bitcoin a better crypto?

I'm still invested in bitcoin and want to see it do well, but I just don't see bitcoins first mover advantage keeping it dominant forever.

Hello all. I know this is more of an alt-coin forum post but it is also strong speculation. I am wondering your opinion on what is the best coin to invest into? The BTC train hasn't passed, but it is starting to get a bit unaffordable. I am wondering what coins I can get in mass for a low price which (speculatively) are looking prospective?
