If you want to invest in cryptocurrency, you should first make sure what method you want to do, whether it's a long-term investment or a short-term investment, if you want to invest long-term, of course, BTC and ETH are good choices, but if you want to invest in the short term it's better if you choose a few altcoins that do have low prices and altcoins that have active movement in the market so that your money turnover will occur continuously but make sure if you really understand about these alt coins so, you can avoid possible losses, this is only a suggestion from me because the decision is still in your own hands.

Based on my experience, Binance has a good volume and it's one of the best and trusted exchanges these days. I've been using this exchange for more than a year now. When it comes to investing with altcoins, it's better if you'll choose top coins like Eth, Xrp or Bch. There are actually lots of potential coins these days but you have to choose the trusted ones.
for exchanges in my opinion Binance is good enough for trading, while for good coins currently there are quite a lot, and you can choose one of the top 10 coins at the moment, such as ETH, XRP, BNB, etc., but if I can tell You are currently better off investing in ETH or BNB
satopay ($stop) is getting a lot of attention lately, but team is anonymous, so I don't know.

You are right, we should always focus on higher volume exchanges and also we need to be very careful with the coin because suddenly the price of those coins will drop in exchange due to market condition, even though there is huge volumes. That's why we should always research before investing into any coin.

OP is asking literally about which currency to invest so i believe it is not the exchange that will give Him choices but US as we are allowed to advise Him.though there are many shitcoins that has been mentioned above or at least Bitcoin and Ethereum lol.

about exchange i suggest you to find an exchange with user friendly interface and easy to use my friend,
a lot of people talk about binance, but maybe thats not same with you
about altcoin just choose the Top 10 alt in coinmarketcap buddy

Binance is the best exchange if KYC doesn't matter a lot to you, as it has almost all types of alts available, and futures is also available. So many things at one place actually.

YFI is the coin I would suggest you to get in, but after it takes a dip as it is very high at the moment. Another one is Bzrx, that one does not have the marketcap it deserves as the project got hacked before but the team did not stop to work behind it.
Atleast top 4 exchanges in coinmarketcap is good. I recommend to try those exchanges but not all coins are listed in 1 exchanges. There are coins with potential that are listed on low level exchanges. About the coins to invest choose the coin with reputation and genuine partnership by doing that you can reduce risk. The trend right coins now are DeFi most of them are on Uniswap but I don't recommend jumping on those pump and dump coins and uniswap really have high fees right now about 10 - 20 dollars per transaction.

Usually the altcoins that most people choose are good altcoins for investment. Like most people I choose popular coins

If you want to invest maybe you can invest in the DeFi Project and I have some lists that look good but do some research if you have any doubts: Oin Finance, Hedget, Ramp Defi, Rio Defi, DeFiner, DFinance, If you want to buy those that have been listed, maybe you can check out Bluezelle project because they have an interesting update
So far, the Defi project still has good hype in the market and I also saw the Oin Finance but as far as I know, there are some problems in their public sale that's why it was moved on another day and now they will start the public sale again on August 31. That's true, always do research whenever you have doubts in the project so you can't blame others and it's our responsibility to do it. OP with regards to the best exchange, I would suggest using Binance or Kucoin. Then, to the best altcoin always focus on the one with potential and great development because this thing can cause a huge impact on the price.

actually in cryptocurrency investing BTC is a very good coin to invest in, but if you want to switch to altcoins in investing, you can choose the top altcoins at the moment, such as ETH, XRP, BNB
BNB is really good coin to invest in, but Ripple and ETH are bad choice right now. there is no news that would give me confidence in their future development
