There are some projects out there with much more volume right now and a higher marketcap right now, but dead before they really getting started. In the end it will be about a stable base, detail-work, a honest and skilled Dev-Team. It would be really easy to pump Neos. And it would be easy for the Devs to hype it. But there is something like a silent agreement between the Team and the steadily growing community: Quality needs time... and quality needs Devs who do their work without too much pressure out of the community about the daily price.
There is a lot going wrong in Crypto and a lot ppl have lost a lot money because of that. And Neos makes it different. Nobody has to buy it, but my advice is to keep an eye on it. Why? There is a lot money in scams and indeed dying and abondened Coins. Crypto is in a stage that most of the Coins will disappear and less new ones will pop up. The last year there was a focus on a quick buch, on promises and hypes without any stable base and greedy Devs. People will learn to focus quality and to feel safe. It's all about quality and honesty and therefore it's about the Devs... and it's about time and timing. It's that simple. That's why I sleep very well with my Neos. ;-)

In my opinion, NXT is best investition for now except BTC. NXT is very inovative coin with good devs and tight community, for now pumpers and dumpers avoid that coin and i think it will slowly grow in this year.
My vote is zeitcoin. I was able to mine a bit of it while you still could and they have been relatively calm for months but they have an active community and the new wallet is working amazingly. The POS/POW hybrid has been shown to be stable by dark coin and more environmentally stable than massive mining farms. I just bought 40 bucks worth and its sitting there gaining interest. With more support maybe I'll be able to buy something with them someday lol. Oh yeah and the value has roughly doubled in the last week so that's nice too.

this coins platform is written in PHP, which gives it loads of future abilities to be easily integrated to sites/portals or various apps. The wallet is so crazy its just best to see it for yourself to see something new in this world. To top that there is full anonimization of transactions, private messaging, market data, your pools stats and other things. This brings somethign totally new to cryptoworld and the devs are 100% commited, not doing this for money.

Syntaks is really one of the best Devs (the best I know) with a great and growing team. Always working, sense for details, great plans, honest and transparent, always around and everytime helpful if needed. Neos is still under the Radar, but I'm sure it will change because of the quality.

Perhaps 2015 will be year of Atencoin (BlackGoldCoin). They have been preparing for a year to be fully in compliance, AML, KYC and more. Launch is getting very close.
