the best altcoin of this year was surely the Monero which has been rising none stop for the past weeks and it is now just taking some breath to keep rising again soon. the amount of investors that are coming to this coins is unbelieveable just because it is being used these days.
Past ago we seen that monero is rising but right now we dont seen high rise about this monero.. So if you holding monero right now better to sale it and buy again if the price goes low again..

This probably isn't a great investment - but just I decided to buy a few thousand IXC (IxCoin), as far as I'm aware, it was the first fork of BTC (making it the oldest altcoin) so a little bit of history. Market cap has dropped way off recently, which doesn't look great - however it has been alive since 2011. For me it also makes some good speculation. I think its a coin everyone should be aware of. Its USP is that it was the original BTC clone =)

I would pick Gridcoin (GRC), as it is one of the more interesting coins out there. This process is decentralized among all nodes, there is no central server issuing all coins like it is for example the case with Curecoin. In some blocks this consenus is saved in the blockchain and the reward one gets when staking a block is proportional to how much research was recently done for BOINC by this researcher.
The network is secured with Proof of Stake, but there is an additional (much bigger) reward depending on how much research the boinc account associated with the staking node has done.

Monero was the biggest atlcoin of the year I think. but sadly only those people got profit who already have invested in it. because monero bumpped so suddenly and very fast. when people notice that the pump had stopped. LOL.. but yeah it made some people rich here.. not the price increase is stopped lets see what will happen.
in new altcoins i would choose, Xarum, Iconomi. Xarum because its old version was very successul and new one also getting appreciate.
and Iconomi because they are rocking in their ICO.

I think Stratis is also one to keep an eye on. Last couple of days their market cap increased by 50%.
I would say LSK, ETH, BTC, STRAT, NXT (ARDOR) and XMR.
Stratis is a newcomer though, but they've got some good "real world"solutions, if they can get clients for their platform it could be big.

Lisk, Monero is best alt place for investment in this time but Iconomi is a good upcoming alt coin and with the another is decent it think the two is having a bright way. Price still low and many good things are coming

The best coins to hold are "high quality" projects with solid devs.
Examples are:

I think Antshares and ICONOMY has got some good potential.Antshares tokens is being sold at high price even before official release of it's wallet and ICONOMY ICO has collected huge amount of money from investors
