For me, I would suggest, waves,litecoin, monero and ripple as the best coins to invest in 2018. Litecoin is considered as silver to bitcoin's gold and it allows us to make transactions faster. Monero is the best privacy coin out there. Its ring signature makes transactions untraceable as well. The information are kept private. These coins are stable, they have good management team and have promising potentials.
Let's invest in BNB, it's the altcoin of the Binance Exchange a very popular commercial site today. I believe that BNB will develop very well with the professionalism of the Binance team and certainly Binance also wants their coin to grow strongly.

I think the best coins to invest in 2018 would be Litecoin, Monero.

Zcoin is one of my favorite projects. My only complaint is, it’s just not lite enough. I need transactions moving immediately in high volumes. My apology but i have to disagree with your last word. I don't thinks that any altcoins can overtake bitcoins. It is possible to become closer to it's value but definitely not to overtake.
