I have 2 smartphones with me all the time. On my primary phone I have coins.ph wallet, thats what I use to exchange my Bitcoins to fiat and I also have Blockchain wallet installed since that's where my funds are stored but not all of them are there. Most are stored on another wallet that I don't bring with me. On my other smartphone I have trust wallet where I store not only some Bitcoins but also my alts.

I wanted to investigate this topic because unlike before today there are many Android and IOS mobile application wallets such as, Breadwallet, Airbitz, Samourai Wallet and many more that allows to do crypto transactions claiming usability and effectiveness but when it comes to Bitcoin the main concern should be the safety than any other because its value and demand so,

1. What is the safest and usable Android Wallet do you suggest to store Bitcoin and to do transactions ?
2. Why do you think it is reliable  ?

Someone doesn't like popular things. But I prefer Blockchain wallet for my Android phone. It seems good, secure and simple. And I think that we can find customer care if need quickly. Some other wallets can't provide that.

For wallets I'm good and no issues with coinomi. I also have used blue wallet(lightning network wallet) for smaller transactions and I just liked it as if I'm contributing to its adoption.

But I dont suggest to keep large amount on coinomi, if you want to keep big amount then go with electrum or keep it on a hardware wallet such as ledger.

I use Coinomi especially for shitcoins and I'm very happy with it. No way am I going to bother running a proper wallet for anything I've got in there.

For the stuff that counts there are no shortage of other and better options.
I have few mbtcs sitting there and altcoins too.

Do not seek adventure in vain. All wallet applications may have some risks. Use paper wallet or hardware wallets. It is secure and relaible way to keepin Bitcoin.
OP would love to do transactions so I don't think that paper wallets will suit his need but hardware wallets will do with any of these:
- Ledger nano S
- Trezor
- Keepkey

While checking https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/hardware/ there's a 2 new addition:
- bitbox
- cold card

Anyone that has used these hardware wallets?

I am using PlusToken wallet since February now and I am very pleased with it.
I think it is safe because it provides private keys. Different authentification methods
can be enabled for withdrawel transactions, 2FA via SMS, email, Google Authenticator
or also face recognition. For BTC the wallet is decentralized which provides another
means of safety.

It's a mobile app for Android or also iOS and the user interface for the wallet is
very easy to use. Beside simple payments the app comes though with a huge
amount of additional functionality and has also an exchange integrated.

Best regards, CompliedTrader.

I might be biased but my only choice for storing Bitcoin in mobile wallet is mycelium.
My primary wallet is a desktop electrum wallet but for coins on go, I prefer mycelium. I too have a coinbase app and some coins there too as it has been integrated to many merchants and the sending by email is an easy way to get connected with regular customers.

1. For me is Electrum and Coinomi. I used this 2 wallets on my phone to stored my bitcoin and i never had a single problem until now. It's safe for me.
2. Because it's easy to use and also the security is good, i recommend Electrum though.

send & receive money instantly, with no hidden cost
I have been using the Blockchain application app ever since i got into the crypto industry and i have not encountered any problem with it. It's route of wallet recovery is very simple and instant. You all should try the blockchain application as it gives you the platform to store, BTC, ETH, XlM, BCH.

Mycelium.

I've sampled plenty of others but that has the best UI, some unique features, it does Segwit now and I've only had its servers crap out on me once. I've been using for about 4-5 years and will continue without the need for anything else.

Electrum is still the best for me. I find it user-friendly and secured and I have been using it for 3 months already.
I personally keep my android phone well secured with multiple pins just to be sure because it holds my earnings.
I'm planning to use a hard wallet to transfer some of my funds soon.

You probably want to go with the mobile version of Electrum Bitcoin Wallet if you don't know

I'm using Mycelium and our local wallet to store bitcoin but I feel more comfortable to store my earnings in a hard wallet. I just use my online wallets to monitor and to check the prices because most online and android wallets are at hackable no matter how hard we keep our private keys.

You use online wallets to monitor and check prices? Sounds odd. You can just use one of the many websites or dedicated price apps to do so.

---

I have recently installed Blockstream's green wallet for android and must say that I like it. This is the first time that I actually enjoy using a mobile client, while the Electrum mobile client that I used as main client did its job, but it doesn't have an appealing UI.

The only downside is that transactions don't pop up instantly, which is something I'm not keen on. I don't know why that is, but it takes like 30-60 seconds before a transaction pops up while it should pop up instantly, just like how it does so in my Electrum client. It could be a backend configuration they need to work on, but hope they'll fix that soon.

I am using Electrum and Eclair currently though I don't store large funds here for obvious reasons. Have been using Electrum for quite sometime and began using Eclair only recently. Checked on google and found this list for you:

Personally i use 3 wallets. They are Atomic Wallet, Trust Wallet and Blockchain. I prefer Atomic wallet more  because it provides Private Key. I only use these wallet, whenever I need to trade on an exchange. Blockchain is used to store Bitcoin, Trust to store Ethereum and Atomic wallet for Alts aswell as Ethereum. If I want to HODL any assets, I would transfer it to my ledger.

I don't get it. Besides the Ledger, why do you separate your BTC, ETH, and alts on 3 Blockchain, Trust, and Atomic? Atomic also supports BTC, ETH, as well as your alts like you said, so why not put your BTC and ETH on Atomic?
