@Holdaaja

I very much doubt it, I dowloaded this before and it was clean, only it never worked properly.
I was prompted to download it again so I did, my AV seen it straight away so I suppose it was a different version.

Maybe it was just false positive?
Many coin related softwares have been getting them because the are similar to hidden coin miners.

Common sense is necessary together with an antivirus, avoiding suspicious files and not installing anything not trustworthy, Avast and avira are good antiviruses.

Kaspersky Internet Security is the best...you don't need malwarebytes with this one.

The user's  brain is the best antivirus. Just avoid to download and install crappy things.
In any case you are not 100% sure on what you download, you always could use virustotal.com and see if it is a legit software or not.

I dont personally use antivirus. I run multiple os's in a quad-boot setup. Any downloading of 'suspicious' files I do within a virtual machine, and only after thorough testing do I transfer to my main OS's.  (just for clarification win10, OSX 10.10.5, Ubuntu 12.04, kali 2.0 on a gateway laptop)
