Well yes, you are right: "for some people" - not everyone can be like them. There are tons of faucets out there and the vast majority of them doesn't earn that much (if anything at all).

IIRC, bitcoininformation (https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/mitchell-113670) had a faucet in the past, but he failed to create enough ad revenue and need to pay the faucet users from his own pocket. In the end, he took the loss and closed the site.

For those biggest faucets (freebitco.in, moon bitcoin, bitcoin zebra, etc), they can earn a lot through the large amount of stable users. But for the other small faucets, it is not as easy to generate good ad revenue.

They can win.. only this few..
I'm wondering how much money someone need to put in adverts to run something like btc25.net? After few days they jump in top 5, and now they are charging 500$ for 10 days advert  Shocked (http://www.btc25.net/ads)

Here are some faucets that I found that are pretty neat. Don't expect to get rich but every little bit is nice. Takes time, time, time and patience.

http://coin.bitdesire.com/?id=6281

Glad to see my new faucet in there Smiley
We've already sent the first payout on Sunday and all went smooth.

Here's the topic ( https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9573994 ). If you have any issue with the faucet, problem with payments, suggestions or just to leave in a good word - you're welcome!

Cheers.

Hope this is helpful.  If you see a * next to the site it means that I personally have received a payment from these sites. The other ones are faucets I just started.

The average monthly turnaround for a BTC faucet is 100K $
And you earn 30$ at best yearly.
Where would you get such information from? So a faucet earns "average" yearly +1,000,000$? I want to know the sources of this statement.

Everyone would be in the business then, seen how easy it is to run a faucet.

The truth is that the "average" earning of a faucet is not more than 30% of what is being hand-out, in most cases.
You might be lucky to break even in the first months as a faucet owner; most faucet sites close after few weeks, since they're going towards a loss they either can't afford or don't believe it being worth of in the long run.

So then, the owner or owners of http://faucet.bitcoinzebra.com have to share 1 BTC per month?
2014-11-16 Weekly payment run completed - over 359 million satoshi (3.59 BTC) paid out!

And http://freebitco.in gets 869.6 BTC of the 2,898.7 BTC they have paid out.

This can become a full time job {$350 000} for some people.

Anyways just to clarify, the "30%" I'm talking about is just an estimation based on my relatively short experience.
Sites like the ones you mentioned are successful and earn a lot of money (I really wonder how much they're earning ONLY from adsense).

EDIT: That's faucet zebra's weekly payment, they'd get 4x what you said (if you rely on my estimate 30% - which I don't suggest) per month.
The earning of course depends on many factors.

I like how you hid referral links everywhere ahah

I still think freebitco.in is worth it if you have a plan to build referrals and get free coins.

Faucets are not something you should use, you should maybe offer some services and earn some money.
But, regarding a good faucet, though I've never used one, i recommend www.bitcoingenie.info
I heard it got 300k impressions last month

You can find this information in several forum´s treads.
This one, for example https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/is-freebitcoinzcom-paying-out-no-399670
