Alex Ferguson
-The guy is also someone who deserves to be on the list as well, he managed Manchester United for a really long time, till 2013 ! At the same time his whole regime have been impressive.
He have been extremely successful in building world's best team as well, I do think that a good coach ofcourse goes a long way!!

Zinadine Zadane
-This guy won 3 champion 🏆 league in 3 years, he is definitely one of the most successful coaches of all time!!

Plus considering the statement that coaches have 20% effect, I do thinks we are forgetting their contribution in organizing, strategic planning, management, encourage the players, they have a lot of responsibility and I think it goes well beyond 20% , no doubt.

According to some statistics, the effect of coaches on football players is stated as a maximum of 20%. A good coach has a direct share in the championship. Therefore, the contribution of successful coaches such as Mourinho and Guardiola cannot be ignored. Quality and success are not accidental. Good coaches are needed as well as good football players. My favorites are Jürgen Klopp, Joachim Löw, José Mourinho, Pep Guardiola.

I think that coaches can have a huge impact on a team. I mean we have seen it again and again that club is performing very poorly for a long time even though they have a great squad of players. Then sooner or later the coach gets released and then with the new coach the players somehow are able to show a great performance again and to win games. I think one of the most important aspects in football is confidence. If a team is coming from a series of losses and is playing very poorly then often it only needs one convincing win to bring the team back on track again.
So i think that great coaches don't only need to know all about tactics but they also need to be able to motivate their team and to bring the team to trust them and to fight for them. I think Mourinho and Klopp are great in doing that.

I saw on listed mention by OP have name with Louis van Gaal as Manchester United ex manager and I think he was failure totally there, I know he was success before with his country but back to Manchester United change Sir Alex Ferguson era he can't give good achievement for Manchester United, trough with him not any primer league trophies getting by Manchester United and always failed for getting top standing position. I think looks some little mistake when give his name or Louis van Gaal as best coach in football trough he can't give competitive trophies for Manchester United like primer league or Champion League.

I wonder why is Ancelotti not rated as high as he deserves after all that he has won as a coach manager in Italy and abroad, among other titles even Champions League ones.I highly doubt Mourinho is better than him but I guess is because Mourinho talks a lot different from Ancelotti which only bring results and the media gives him more power compared to Ancelotti.

I just wanted to make that prologue which is a personal opinion of mine and I guess for me and many others the best coach in the world remains Bep Guardiola, the one that invented the tika-taka game play which roughly translates in ball possession of more than 65% in most of the games that he has run as a coach manager.

Sure there are lots of other good coaches like Ferguson which is an icon but I like to talk about only present ones in the field,no retired ones.

Alex ferguson became a very influential coach, he was able to bring in star players and was able to make players unite in the game and outside the game, it was proven that he had won 48 trophies during his coaching, Mourinho was also a great coach, but unfortunately now Mourinho has faded, maybe if now a great coach is xavi, although he has not been able to give any title, but his performance has brought Barca back to being feared by Europe.

In my personal opinion, the best coach of all time and the coach who has won the most trophies is Alex Ferguson, a total of 48 trophies that he has won since 39 years of coaching, and 38 trophies he got when he coached Manchester United, maybe for now there is no coach. who can match the achievement of the championship title that was obtained by Alex Ferguson, who do you think is the next coach who is able to pursue the acquisition of the Sir Alex Ferguson trophy.
You are right mate. Sir Alex Ferguson is the greatest football manager of all time after he worked as a coach. Its clear that in the history of football, no other coaches can beat his coaching strategy. Apparently, he is now the Director, Football Board at Manchester United Football Club Limited. Though there are other top coaches in the field of football, but Sir Alex Ferguson's achievement was definitely incomparable.
I admit that, even I hate him while MU coach because dumping Beckham to Real Madrid, but nothing to doubt about his achievement.  One of the best is to create Ronaldo and find Rooney. And Nothing is wrong when the official still recruits him as director, but I believe is not make a change like he was coach, we can see now.

I had a favorite coach in past, Mourinho. but for now, he is only a tiger without fangs.

The best coach now is Pep.

Sometimes people forget that there are amazing managers out there but they do not get the same chances as some other managers get. I am sure there are some managers in leagues that nobody watches, but beloved by their club and provide the best they possibly could. We all know about Xavi right now, he was both a famous player, but he also came to Barcelona and changed a team that was barely in the top half, to a team that "possibly" has a chance to win the league after such a big points difference.

But, how many people really followed him when he was in Qatar? I mean sure a few, but not this many. Now imagine all those managers that we do not hear about in those leagues, there could be someone better than all the Pep, Klopp, Tuchel and whatever that we already know.

I think will better have specific criteria about Best coaches in Football and performance depending with still active on the club or  another coach have retired from football, maybe if discussing about best coach in football still active I see have potential with Pep Guardiola. He was success coach in football right now where keep consistent on the same game style football and not worry about how attractive and hard games play on primer league but he can manage Manchester City keep consistent with achievement several primer league trophy in this season. Have chance for next primer league trophy in this year if keep consistent until several match left although not easy how to beat Liverpool next two week.

Of course, the influence of a coach is very large in determining the continuity of a team because a good coach will know how to determine the position of a player and who will play. The coach must know each player's character in his team and be able to put them in the best position so that it is hoped that each player can contribute well in the match.

It's a bit difficult to determine who is the best coach because I think each coach has tried to give a good performance for his team and it's only because of bad luck that their team can't win. And if we talk about who will be the coach for PSG next year, then maybe the team already has a candidate for the coach position. Louis Van Gaal may still have a chance to lead PSG but it all goes back to the team and the owners.

From what I read, the OP asked (3) questions in the world of football, where all the questions will lead we have to find all the answers through google, except the role of the coach.
I will try to give a little information about the role of the coach for the team, the successful and the unsuccessful.
1. The coach has an active and very important role in educating the team and players to achieve great success in the soccer league, not to mention from all sectors the coach plays a very important role, that's the point.
2. You can find here: Who are the best 50 football managers of all-time?
3. And the third you can also see here about: 50 Worst Managers in World Football History

True this makes me feel confused to give the OP's answer, in the thread Best coaches of football and performance I think currently who is still active in all leagues or nationals therefore there is a difference if we give an answer.
and the OPs mentioned for bad and best coaches are many and not only some coaches are mentioned OPs, because there are also coaches who are good at national but less good at clubs and vice versa.

and in my opinion the best coaches for national and club all come from Germany.

What criteria's did you consider before deciding your list? what did you take into consideration before you called out all these coaches as "best coaches".

OP, this discussion is good, but to make it better and less ambiguous, there are some things we need to take into considerations like;
(a) Should the list of best coaches be an all-time list or a list of only coaches still in active duties?

(b) Are we only considering coaches from football clubs, and not coaches for National teams?

Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson is widely known for managing Manchester United from 1986 to 2013. He is widely regarded as the greatest manager of all time and has won more trophies than any other manager in the history of football.

btw, thanks op for this topic. sir Ferguson is a highly respected coach to this day, even a book about him is published, His loyalty to Manchester United is unquestionable, I personally really believe that if he coached another team, that team would still be strong.

Yes exactly, Sir Alex Ferguson is the best coach and he has been named the best coach of all time by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS). Sir Alex himself had a coaching career that spanned 39 years, from 1974 to 2013. 26 of his 39-year career he played as Manchester United coach.

I thought it would be interesting and fun to start a discussion about this. The forum often talks about teams and players. Trainers are then mentioned as an afterthought. How much influence does a trainer have on a player group? Who has failed in recent years and who has done well? A harsh but also beautiful statement from Mourinho, for example, was that Frank de Boer was the worst coach in the Premier League in his time.
He turned out to be right, after all. Frank de Boer then became coach of the Dutch national team and played a worthless European Championship with that team.
Louis van Gaal is a success coach, perhaps he should have lasted longer and is that perhaps the right man for PSG next year?

I admire Carlo Ancelotti, he is the greatest coach, he has achieved several achievements at various clubs. Ancelotti listed himself as the first coach in modern Champions League history to reach the quarter-finals in four different decades. Ancelotti's first achievement was when he coached Juventus in 1999 and now he will compete with Real Madrid in 2022.

The 62-year-old Italian won the Champions League in 2003 and 2007, then with Real Madrid in 2014. In domestic competitions, Ancelotti has won the Scudetto with AC Milan, the English Premier League with Chelsea, the French Ligue 1 with PSG, and the German Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.

With Real Madrid currently top of La Liga, Ancelotti could defend the season by becoming the first coach to win titles in Europe's top five leagues. To find the right person to coach PSG, I see Zinedine Zidane is more suitable to coach Lionel Messi, et al. Because PSG are so eager to win the Champions League, Zidane is the right person to achieve it thanks to his experience with Real Madrid.
