There have also been coaches who have been successful, and then a lot less. Mourinho is a good example. With Porto unexpectedly and surprisingly won the Champions Lague, because it wasn't that great when you look at which players were walking around there. That was a truly unique achievement. He also won the Champions League with Inter Milan in 2010/2011. Good players, but certainly not the best in the world. Sneijder was very good back then and a few other players played great too. That was certainly Mourinho's merits. After that, mixed success. Mourinho could be in the top 10 of best coaches, but behind his teacher Van Gaal. Grin

From long while, we able see the threads for football league or released to the league winners. You made a good move by making this thread. If the player made one goal in a match. It's not only by his talent. But also because of his coach tactics.Every coach had a unique strategy for the game. But it will be revealed, only with his player and his team. When the player used of his own tactics and his coach tactics. He won't loss his chance of goal.

I thought it would be interesting and fun to start a discussion about this. The forum often talks about teams and players. Trainers are then mentioned as an afterthought. How much influence does a trainer have on a player group? Who has failed in recent years and who has done well? A harsh but also beautiful statement from Mourinho, for example, was that Frank de Boer was the worst coach in the Premier League in his time.
He turned out to be right, after all. Frank de Boer then became coach of the Dutch national team and played a worthless European Championship with that team.
Louis van Gaal is a success coach, perhaps he should have lasted longer and is that perhaps the right man for PSG next year?

All the people are important. But we only discussed about the players and team.Coaches are the people, who was back of the team successful. If the team was loss in one match of league, coaches only had a capacity to get back the player to old potential. Why I am disclosure this!Even I was an Hockey player.Hockey is similar to football and different from cricket. We also need full stamina like a Football player.

Van Gaal has always been a very good coach. He was successful at Bayern Munich, but it started with Ajax in the 90s, where he won the Champions League with that team in 94/95. Some even considered the best team of all time. A coach is decisive for a team, but then you have to have the player material or at least have potential, and see what those players can achieve. Could there be such a thing as the top 5 greatest coaches of all time?
