I believe some basic level of regulation is needed in order to have a relatively safe environment for investors and flush-out scam ICOs,and at the same time such regulations should not be to stiff. For this reason,I would choose Japan, there are sme regulations, the people and government are crypto-friendly.I personally will buy into an ICO from the Japanese

I think the best countries for ICO are some of the EU countries, the countries that crypto regulations have not taken place. They are the best country for ICO

I think that it is not the country itself who will make a good ICO, it will be the team behind the project. No matter what country is the team came from, as long as they are dedicated to their work and will true to their investors, it will be one of the best ICO. Of course, the project must also have a good vision, mission and unique to others. Even a third world country can make a good ICO, it will really depends on the team.

Author, do you mean best for running ICO or investing in ICO?
The answers will be different.
For running ICO are better countries with little or no regulation.
For investing in it are better countries where there is regulation because it'll be safer for investors to invest into checked ICOs.

European countries are doing very well in terms of ICO mostly German ICO Startup Projects do it very profesionally and transparent. I don't know of UK, But Swiss ICO is OK . Then Asian countries mostly Singapore, Korea and Japan. In fact it appears that Europe and Asia are taking the lead .

Every country has its positives and negatives when it comes to ICOs.
Not really, there are countries which prohibit ICO means only negative for ICO there and also country with strict rules and the some which ICO friendly, even USA only allow accredited investors only to invest into certain ICO and really prohibit ordinary people to invest into an ICO.
So it's better to make analyzation first regarding which countries is cryptocurrency friendly and which is not.

I think Japan and South Korea are the best countries for ICO. Of course, there are some government regulatory voices in these two countries. It may be possible for the ICO to develop further after a moderate regulation, and it is clear that in these two countries, the attitude of the ICO is very open. In addition, Russia may also have the best choice of ICO, but there are many frauds coming from here, so we must be careful.

Singapore, Swiss and Estonia are friendly countries  for starting an ICO.

I'd add Belarus here too. It has legalized running crypto projects recently.
France should become another choice but the ico creator must register its ico to the regulators to get an official license from AFAC. But canadians countries look the best place for the majority of ico companies right now consider there is on a lot of restriction to run ico in there. Just like bitfinex will try to move its company to the canadian country.

I guess the best countries, for now, would be Europe and the countries of south Asia as they didn't so much regulation on Icos yet and i will stay away from USA because it made alot of restriction on Icos and cryptocurrencies in the last couple of months

Hi, you have a great topic for discussion, but for me, i believe those countries that does not regulates cryptocurrencies are good for ICO's., I mean i also believe that this countries that legalize bitcoin are a good example of countries to run for ICO's., but of course there are lots of positives and negatives that would happen when running an ICO's.

Nevertheless, i hope that this existing ICO's running in the market would adhere to their business goals and continue their development in order to satisfy their customers and business clientele.

Have a great day.

I know the topic was covered a bunch of times already, but the rules change fast and really curious on getting the most recent thoughts on this.

What countries in your opinion are the best for the ICO's right now and is it likely to drastically change in the next 2 years, and why?

Thanks!

Of cause when we are talking about "good" or "bad" countries for an ICO, we are mentioning legal regulations inside these countries.
That is why it is possible to say, that best countries for ICOs are countries where crypto is not regulated yet.
Because if it is forbidden to do anything with crypto is the country, you are breaking the law.
If crypo field is accepted by laws, you have to pay taxes.
And if there is no regulations, you can do whatever you want  Grin

Every country has its positives and negatives when it comes to ICOs. The worst probably is United States across the board, but the ICO itself is more regulated by people looking to invest rather then the company itself. This means that running it in any country will work, but you need to follow each participating countries legal rulings when it comes to the ICO itself.

As for the best country I would say Malta just for the fact they are pushing the blockchain technology and very large cryptocurrency companies are moving there.
