I should distinguish genres here. Because the best fighting game is not exactly the same as the best MMORPG or racing game. After all how exactly are you going to compare Battlefield to Diablo?
You don't have to compare it, just say what your favorite games are in each area if you want and why lol.
And I think most people have a favorite type of game they like and play more often than any other, making it easier to pick one.

Elder scrolls online is shit and it had all the hype in the world but it does not feel like a elder scrolls game.
Yes, that's true.. And all of those empty rewards for completing missions, and minor xp boost couldn't fill the void for that RPG feeling.

I voted for Dota2, great game.
I'm fairly certain this game won't have been mentioned before but I'm going to be playing this game called Natural Selection 2 at some point and it actually looks pretty good, it's an FPS/RTS hybrid that for once doesn't seem to suffer badly from the problems that many of it's counterparts have, not throwing my weight behind it though until I get to play it properly and see if anything is horribly broken or overpowered.
The only issue I can really see the game is maybe a slight over-reliance on the commander and researching weapons upgrades.
