Every coin you mention is great for long term holding. You can make a good altcoin portfolio with them. If you are not sure which one is better you can buy at the same amount. For example put 1k USD for each coin and wait 1 year. I'm sure you will make a lot of profit with that investment.
Among the 5 its WAVES that I trust I see steady rise of its value. Walton is never hype, yet I do't think it won't have a good value too. Stratis had gone to its very peak but suddenly drop right where they are now. But probably in the next update, the price will reach to its ATH again.
In correct order I'd say: Waves, OmiseGO, Ark.
I don't care about stratis and walton. If you want to do long term investment you should buy first 3 coins.
If you are looking for fast pump and dump schemes you can try your chance with stratis and walton.

To understand which project is better to invest money, it is necessary to answer several important questions. what is behind the project (which idea, technology) and who is behind the project (which team). What is the increase in the value of a coin - organic or speculative.
My choice would be Waves. It is a great project with lots of interesting features.
I invested some money in it and I'm gonna buy some other coins, as long as price is so low.
Yet Waves platform can be even improved. For example its decentralized exchange has a very ugly interface, graphs are not updated in real time and placing an order is not so user-friendly. If they keep improving and development works well, as it has been so far, I'm pretty confident this project will become the next Ethereum, or even better!
About Stratis, I haven't understood yet what this project is about. And if I don't understand a project it's better to not invest in it, because I just don't know how it works and how much potential it has...

I agree with you about the Waves platform right now the coin is undervalued, i see to it that devs are working on their best development, NG protocol will have a high speed transactions 
Currently the most ambitious one is for sure Omisego. It is somewhat new and they did everything right. Right behind, Waves and Stratis project are going good but their prices somewhat stalling.

IMO here, i would say
Waves deserve a better price in terms of development and time of existence in the crypto world.
They has been developing and giving a clear view of their roadmap on their website.
Ark is good as i can see they are sharing their development on their facebook time by time too

i agree with you, waves is undervalued. I don't know why other people cannot appreciate this good project, but i am still hopeful that waves can pump again after the future developments that will take place sooner.Waves is not suggested on long holding. Waves has the tendency to pump then dump then it will be stable. you will wait a lot of weeks or an important event to cryptocurrency for Waves to pump and after that it will dump again and it will be stable. so i don't suggesst and recommend waves as of now.

They are not a good team at all, and that is the main reason of why waves has not increased during this last few months, while all the other altcoins have increased by more than 0.5x - 3x in just three months.

You should watch out coins in other exchanges than bittrex. There are a lot of good projects out there, just unchain the boundaries

If you can hold all of them, why don't you choose to do so. These are all good coins that will definitely give you a good return for a long term investment. Well, I am not sure about Walton honestly. But in the case of OmiseGo (OMG), Waves, Stratis (Strat), and ARK, I cannot just choose only one or two from them. I would rather be safe by choosing them all four. After all, these all four will certainly give you good gains in the end.
Waves is highly undervalued, i dont know why there are a lot of users trying to hype this coin. but there has always been a lot of marketing campaign about this project in this forum, maybe a lot of users got paid in order to promote and always talk awesome things about this project, and it is a true crap.
I would never put all my funds in there because that is a freezed coin, and it is never going to go over $7 each one because it is impossible for them.
OMG is the only one who has a lot of potential from that list, so i am sure that maybe that is the only good one, i would put more than 10 thousand dollars in this coin, but i dont have them on my wallet unfortunately.

waves looks a good pick out of the list you gave. Why? Mainly because it's adopted by russia, has a decentralised trading platform
Of those 5 coins I am holding now only Waves. I sold my OMG and Stratis to buy more Waves. But OMG, Stratis, Ark and Walton are amazing projects. Just have a look to them in 2 years.. (small circulating supply compare to other coins)
