yes it is a good decision when the market in a bearish trend is better to hold bitcoin but I don't agree if you will hodl eth or bnb in the market in a bearish trend because all altcoin prices will fall so it's better to hold bitcoin
Will you choose to invest in bitcoin now that its at 8k or still continue investing in altcoin since many big altcoins have already lose up to 30% value again, well i decide to invest in bitcoin if further value loss takes place and i keep buying bnb token and ETH too, good idea or bad idea??
as long as you buy Bitcoin, it won't be bad idea. Bitcoin will be bright in the futureeven you buy in low price like this, you will earn multiple from your invesment
You shouldn't buy altcoin in this time. you are better to wait until altseason comes
so, you will easy to earn money while altseason happening.
if you buy altcoin now, the price tends to down. look at top 10 altcoin, those are hard to reach good price
moreover if you buy shitcoin, it would be down harder.
but if you still wanna buy altcoin at this time, make sure you do for short term.
and place tight stop loss as you can set.

Few days back bitcoin went below 7000$ and made an upward moment of almost 1000$ gain and that too in very short span of 4 days.
What we learn from this is another lesson and that is best time to invest is when market is going down not when it's going up. I m 100% sure we will still not learn anything from this.

I think differently now, earlier this year it looks like bitcoin will experience rapid movement, I'm still waiting for confirmation whether it will penetrate 6670-6500 or vice versa. In my case, I always keep on sticking with my investment with bitcoin no matter what happens. It may look a little dumb but my faith on bitcoin is way bigger than what I have with other altcoins. The market has always been very confusing for a very long time already and as an investor, we should adjust and make actions that would fit to the situation. It is a good time to buy bitcoin now that its value is still low, if ever it gets high, you can start selling and earn lots of money. 
I would now recommend waiting and not investing, the market will clearly fall below, you can invest about when Bitcoin falls below $7k.

I'm not sure whether the market will fall deeper than now. see at the beginning of next year there is an update from ethereum and bitcoin. not to mention libra and other good news. When I was in stock trading, I remember how people start selling due to panic and rumors. On one fine day I heard there is “global sell off of stocks”, without giving a second thought I sold my holdings in loss. With time I realize that when we were selling someone was buying too. Those buyers are called tycoons (whales). There specialty is they invest when market is crumbling.
