Thanks a lot for all three being part of this competition I and Heisenberg_Hunter appreciate your efforts. Although the campaign lasted approximately one month and a few days your incredible effort to win the contest was amazing. As I said in the ANN our first preference will be to reward someone active on the local board before this campaign starts. We found out the winner and the topics created we felt were relevant to the community and engaging to the crypto sphere.

I am not sure why no one on this board is creating topics as they used to be. It doesn't make any sense meriting OP in this case. Although I am not against meriting OP but the reason you stated is conflicting with the purpose of this thread.
1. If you want to merit useful posts you can do it directly by giving merits to useful posts instead of meriting OP and then hoping him to merit others.
2. This topic is for identifying useful posts and rewarding the author with BTC and not merits (as mentioned in OP).
In my opinion, what Mr amishmanish did there is not a bad one. Since the op is the host of this contest, giving some merits to either have smerits to share isn't a bad idea. Besides the op deserves even more for stretching out a generous hand of giving from his own pocket, just to increase or help the activities of our local board to grow. However adding merit to the contest would even make it more fun.

@amishmanish thanks a lot for again being active on the local board. Yes, lack of merits is a big issue to keep this small crowd of active members motivated. You can check the stats of the local board posted by Bitcoin Smith every month. November has been very bad for the board and I am expecting the

2. Active users (atleast 1 post) : Decreased from 86 to 31.
3 Merits shared : Decreased from 318 to 61.

November has been very bad for the board and I am expecting the same outcome for December, which will be out by the end of this month. What we need is an active merit source who can spare some time and spread the merits on posts or topics that are up to the standards of Bitcointalk. If not them I can be someone who can send you through DM the list of posts/topics that are suited for merits.
When @Heisenberg_Hunter was active we did see a rise in activity here and we were very happy as a community. I am aware of the reason why he is inactive now and in the meantime, you can look into the situation of merits on this board. I have tried my level best to get the child boards also active apart from the main board.
It is good to see the contest has been extended, I have a few topics that I am planning to publish. I was not aware that this contest was in place in December, I might have missed this topic. Now that I have seen it and know the award it carries I am going to come up with some new topics from tomorrow onwards. This is the only board that has so many contests that run now and then. Lucky to be part of the Indian local board on Bitcointalk.

This is really a wonderful unique and interesting initiative of this board. I have seen various initiatives in other boards before,like Fillippone is working on Merits in Bitcoin forum at 'Beginners and Help' section that is very important and helpful initiative for everyone to work forward.But Bitcoin will be given to the winner as reward in this Indian local section, this is the first time as far i known.I think this initiative will be good and profitable for all the participants.I wanna participate in this party .
