I used to use the mist/geth wallet. It was a pain always resyncing to the chain. My ether wallet is so much easier and does what I need it to do.

Myetherwallet for me is the best wallet for Ethereum since I've been using it for quite some time now and I haven't encountered any problems as of the moment. In addition, Myetherwallet is supported by etherscan.io in which you could easily track down your transaction history. Be cautious since there are a lot of sites that offer Ethereum wallet that is actually a scam.

I think the best wallet for ethereum depends on the owner because the owner is the one who is responsible to his security. Offline or online wallets are good but the security is on your own hands, don't give your private key to anyone so no one can access your wallet. For me, any wallet is a good wallet.

MyEtherWallet is pretty good, you own the keys so they have no control over your coins. Just use myetherwallet to generate a random address and keep the private key safe. That's all you need.

In my opinion, myetherwallet is best to use for ETH and ERC20 tokens but you have to save your private key at safer place because nowadays many hackers try to steal your private key to transfer all your holdings to their accounts. Never share your private key to anyone in any circumstances otherwise your account compromised.

The Ledger wallet is the best physical wallet and you can use it to store your ethereum. Or u can use MyEtherWallet.com (really good wallet for ERC20 tokens)

Hi All,

I setup my Ethereum wallet long ago, sometime in early 2016 if I remember correct. I saved my wallet in a safe place and since then I haven't used it.

Now, Ethereum has undergone several developments, 1 hard fork (Ethereum Classic) and so on. I would like to know which wallet should I use? Are the latest versions of the wallet compatible with previous versions? Can I import my old wallet file into a new one? I think the format of the wallet was in JSON before. Please let me know. Thanks.

In my opinion, I find MyEtherWallet a fairly affordable and convenient choice. It's not and like the web site like Coinbase or Blockchain, you do not have to send your ETH for MyEtherWallet to keep, ie your ETH will never be hosted on MyEtherWallet server. MyEtherWallet is just a tool that makes it easy for users to interact with Blockchain. Security information is initialized on MyEtherWallet as Private key and the password is never saved. However, because it is online, there are still risks of being compromised. If you have large quantities of ETH, then I recommend using a cold hard drive like Trezor, Ledger Nano S, it will be much safer. Cheesy

I'm very tired of downloading software and apps for wallet for ethereum and other alt coins. I prefer to use myetherwallet, look on how many are suggesting it. This is the best wallet for me since you have the private key and there's nothing to worry about it. You can also have other tokens that are erc20 so you can have it on an easy way, also it's reliable and convenient in using.

It depends on what your use is.

If you need to do daily transactions, then use something like MetaMask.

If you need to store large amounts, then use an offline wallet such MyEtherWallet.

I suggest that you use myetherwallet. It is the most demand and required wallet that is compatible with your ethereum. Especially the ERC20 tokens. myetherwallet is the most used wallet because it is required in joining campaigns and also other things like airdrops, because most coins the is given as a reward in this forum is compatible in myetherwallet. But you can search for another wallet , its up to you.

There are couple of good wallets for ethereum actually. This is very big business so there lots of scam websites that are trying to get their hands on people's money. For that reason you should use well known ones like myetherwallet . This is the best wallet out there in my opinion.

You can use myetherwallet (MEW), Metamask, they are very good and secure. I prefer mew because it is fast, however metamask is more secure. You can also run your own node and use geth, parity. Nodes take some time to setup but they are worth it.

Myether wallet is the right website if you are looking for a safe and easy wallet for ethereum . I use it for a while and never had safety issues. Only thing to consider is to be careful about fakes  of myetherwallet.

Like a wallet where you control your ID through seed or private keys. But best think is, you should move all of it to Hardware wallets or recommended wallets now.
