Localbitcoins will be the best and easy to use  Grin For larger BTC amounts it is quite good  Wink

For a transaction of $100,000, he would have to buy from more than one localbitcoin seller. He will have to bargain separately and might end up buying at slightly different rates from the buyers.

I am of the opinion that btc-e.com will be the best option for you OP.

Why? Compared to other exchanges the methods for depositing USD are incredibly convoluted with high fees. There's also the risk of something going wrong and them just ignoring you.

i can suggest you to contact a big miners privately, maybe via bitcointalk, and set up a trade with him, it will result in a very anon transaction and remove all the issues about exchange and everything, he an also sell them at a discout price, if the amount is really be, i would try for sure this way, it seems uncommon but can offer some advantages over the standard ways

Localbitcoins is enough for that , however if want to deal with an individual then best way would be trading them in certain fragments . I would like to know where do you play poker .

Found a site for you their RESERVE in bitcoins is 57.79 BTC.  I have dealt with and first one was a small amount and took less than 30 minutes. The last one was larger so they send it within 24 hours.
The good thing about it is they give you a discount on every transaction you have with them. So you discount % accumulates. That is why I keep going back to them when I need small transactions.
I will send you PM with the site.

some people on localbitcoins give discounts for larger purchases you an try that. i used to see people selling for 5% over which is not bad when you are in a bind.

if you have patience just use coinbase since they raise buying and selling levels pretty quickly

circle might be better imo, coinbase tends to track how users spend their coins, and with a purchase as big as this, they might send a nice little email to ask you everything about why you need this much in bitcoin, and lock your transaction until you answer it. also, coinbase is limited to use in the USA.

Just based on my experience: No service is better than localbitcoins.com. For $100,000 it take a few buys to get the BTC, but you will get them and far more easily than anywhere else.

If you want to avoid the big exchanges due to possible delays in bank transfers and other times, you can definitely buy large amounts on localbitcoins . There are many sellers selling upto 10 btc and you could just buy 20 btc from them. However for an amount >50 BTC, an exchange is the best place to go.

I have btc but never had to buy bitcoins.  I get bitcoins because i play poker at certain sites that allow you to cashout in bitcoin.  Thus if i deposit another method, they allow me to withdraw bitcoin.

But if i wanted to buy a lot of bitcoin... say at least 20 bitcoin... what would be the best method?  Coinbase and circle the limits are very small right where you have to wait at least 1 month?  Even if so, you could only buy 3k max worth of bitcoin?  I also wouldn't want to pay a premium for bitcoin and want to buy bitcoin at the current price.

What about those that want $10000+ worth of bitcoin and more and don't want to pay premium fees?

I think you want to trade bitcoin ? right ?
if yes you can buy 1/4 in rate now, 1/4 at -3% from now, 1/4 -6% from now and 1/4 -10% at now
that best method to trading Smiley (for me)

to tell you the truth the best way to buy BTC is to know someone here on this forum with a nice trust reputation and contact with him, there is lot of them who sell BTC and you will have not fees Wink

also if you are in lucky maybe there is someone living near you who want to trade it, this will be best way Wink

but if you want an online solution, go for localbitcoins.

What is the most common form of payment on localbitcoins?  Many are reversible.

you can use your debit card, with your bank account , like an exchange, i think they allow wire transfer and sepa, juust do not use paypal....

many exchnage does have a monthly limit if your account isn't verified, but if your account is authenticated you can buy as many as you want
