I just logged into my Betcoin.ag account for the first time in 2018, and it appears that both my early January and my early February payment that appears to have happened a couple of days ago were both in my betcoin.ag account, and they appear to be accurate payment amounts based on my activity levels for December and January.
I had recalled that in early January the blockchain transaction fees were eating up a large amount of the monthly payment of signature campaign members (maybe nearly all of it), so that was part of the reason that I chose to not even attempt to transfer my early January payment in early January. The combination of these two months payment and the relatively low current transaction fees did allow me to transfer my remaining balance at .00084087 BTC fees (which is about $6.73 at current BTC prices - don't remind me of current BTC prices of under $8k -ish... ..
).....
Anyhow, thanks for everything Betcoin.ag, including following through with your word (which was payments).
You are still paying almost the same amount of BTC for the transfer, only the USD value is a lot lower. Would probably have been better to have had it transfered using bitcoin cash or litecoin.
Good to hear payment was well received, I'll take a look soon to see if mine has also been credited.
You likely correct about using some other coin for cheaper transactions, but I refuse to use scammer, spammer and bitcoin attack vector bcash for anything, except when I sold the vast majority of my bcash at various points, mostly in 2017.
Regarding bitcoin specifically, the past couple of weeks seem to have brought a considerable drop in the spamming of the network, so the transaction fees and times have dropped, and the mempool has largely been cleared out... I recall in early January there were fees that were much higher in terms of both bitcoin and dollars, and I had some transactions with $50-$60 transaction fees.. now on the regular network, regular fees are tending to be less than $.25 and priority frequently less than $2, but sometimes going up to $5.. .. and yeah, we can talk in terms of satoshis per byte going down too, but overall transaction fees and times are down.
Rumor is that bcash - trash is planning another attack and pump in mid-February to be coordinated around anarcapulco.. so we will see how that plays out, if the rumors end up being more than rumors (true in other words)...
By the way, regarding fees on any exchange or a third party holding your coins versus suggested fees that you get on a private wallet, most often the fees through exchanges, including betcoin.ag are higher than direct transactions (as you likely realize), whether they are skimming off the top or if they are merely just cushioning, I don't have time to look into any of these matters except to notice that there tends to be a pattern of higher fees and a tendency for more difficulties in customizing your transaction fees when your coins are transferred off of an exchange or from a third party holding your coins.
