This isn't the first nor last time we've had someone try to cheat our pools/predictors, it's unfortunate, but that's just the way it is. We need to be extra cautious with these new accounts.

If anyone has a direct connect to either Rollbit or BetFury, i'd share the findings with them. Both accounts finished in the top ten of their respective fantasy pools. I know books do their internal checks before sending out prizes, but you never know, and this extra info can't hurt.

Anyway, congrats to Trofo for taking down the first place, well-deserved, solid performance from start to finish. I had a nightmare of an FPL season, can't imagine playing any worse than that. Too many injuries, hits, and 50:50 calls went the other way, negative variance and i became best friends. I'm glad this season is over.

Props to icopress on running the pool smoothly for the second year in a row.

This is extremely frustrating to see and such players should be banned from all future pools.

Take my case as an example. I finished 9th overall, 29 points behind 7th who now claimed the prize.
I stopped playing in W36 just to try a Hail Mary for the best result in GW37, taking a -36 points hit in the process. It made sense because 5th guy was too far ahead.

I would have probably still ended up without a reward but it's true that it drastically changes the approach in later rounds of the competition.

I insisted that we include some more prominent bitcointalk members in blockchain analysis since I am not proficient in this field and wanted more opinions. After findings from Loyce, DaveF, Charles-Tim & hugeblack there wasn't any doubt in my mind that those addresses were connected.

Multi-accounting is a deplorable tactic in these pools and ruins the game for everyone. It takes away from other players even when caught like in this case. Most of us at the top would probably play a slightly different game and who knows what would be final positions if those players weren't in the pool or if it was just one of them. Maybe the punishment looks severe but I believe it is the only way we can fight against this problem.

Ah! Not the ending we all desired, but multi-accounting takes away the beauty and fun of the game; those were two unpopular names on the forum who remained silent during the season; I had never come across them or seen their posts, but I trusted everyone on board and never anticipated anyone to cheat this way. I assumed they were clubhouse members.

I believe we should make the rules more explicit to avoid situations like these, but every FPL player understands that using multiple accounts is against the rules and is strongly discouraged. Maybe limiting a low rank account would keep this from happening in the next episode.

It should be clear to any participant that there is 1 participation per user. Anything else is cheating and it should be common curtesy to follow the rules (even if they are not written) and to not try to cheat.
On the other hand it is only fair to refund the participation fee of course, this person can be happy about that.

It's funny how many people here are so greedy and try to get an advantage without thinking twice about what they do. Sending the same wallet is such a beginner move, hahaha. Nice catch ico!

I don't think we would have resorted to such a solution if the prize pool consisted of 100% sponsorship funds because from my experience I can say that if the casino has to choose between losing a small amount or drama, they will always choose the first one. But since the lion’s share of this money is contributions from pool participants, this kind of fraud is an outright slap in the face to all pool participants.

Two users who took prizes in the football pool sent me Bitcoin addresses that clearly belong to the same person. Please note that when reviewing this case, I did not take into account such minor factors as the fact that these are newbie accounts and that the entry fee into the pool was made using the same exchange [1], [2]. I am just vocal about it and I don't mind sharing good advice. There is a couple of serious players in our pool but they don't write as much as I do and even if they do, they don't advertise their moves.

I actually had much more fun last season. My ranking suffered just because I started with Kane instead of Haaland and Trent/Robertson. Haaland went on to score 8 goals in the first 3 games and Liverpool was conceding left and right. After that, I played an almost perfect season and climbed the ranks all the time. This season I started well and just played safe game all the time, wasn't as much fun but ended up quite lucrative for me.
