Because presets are no magic shortcuts, they produce a common average result at best. Tailored for your specific miner can only be achieved one way... But at least they restored the "low power" function which is better than nothing.
At this point all of my S19J Pro (104TH) are on the latest as well as my S19A Pro (110TH units).

they need different firmware. but they did work.
I ordered an oddball s19 j 88th pro it is coming in a day or 2 sometimes underperforming chips (I assume this was that type) are super under clockers.
would be nice to see this one do 20watts and 66 th on low setting

for exemple, my S19pro 100th, in real case, is not a S19pro, so, if i try flash with S19pro firmware, give me same problem ...

But when I try and load Antminer-S19-merge-release-20221227070716.bmu it just says its uploading and installing, but it doesn't install, it just refreshes the page an doesn't reboot the miner and the logs/screens don't indicate any change.
Was there an earlier release? If so can someone please link me?

look, on mine, set at 1380mv, but is regulated from temp (fixed fan at 50%)

This is so stupid and is the same. with some miners that shut of in the winter because the cooling system can not adapt. I feel like mining rig companies need to step up their testing to more non standard situations.
Yes, the fans draw more power, but are very largely compensated by the drop in draw of power on mining...

I think he is talking about the new firmware which already released with a power efficiency.
You can do some experiment if you unplug the blue wire but if this wire is unplug I'm sure the fan will force to run at 100% speed(but to him it blocked to run at full speed). You can test it and let see if it can help to improve efficiency but I guess the fan will eat much power vs lowering the chip temp.

I see also, a comparison, of two firmware, same hashrate, but colder chip... at no time did it speak about the ventilator!!! ? on colder chips, they run at an additional 2000 rpm... it doesn't shock anyone?
Then, at no time does anyone speak of a fundamental! temperature ! the new firmware launches the hashboards in normal mode with 20mv less in voltage, but, in return, regulates the temperature a little higher so its balance...
I would like someone here to do the test, let his miner run for about 15min to be well stabilized, make a note of the power and temperature...
Still running, unplug the 4 blue wires from the fans (to block them at 100%), and admire the consumption which will drop as it cools down!

I'm really glad I haven't touched any of my S19's yet with anything other than the firmware they shipped with.

Well obviously those miners are operating in low ambient temperature. Running the fans at 100% and low ambient definitely does not conserve power. I find it hard to believe that bitmain couldn't optimize the fans as well if they were focused on a low energy firmware.
