Why bother? BTG is also fake with the issues connected to it, Still it is a "free money" from BTG, I should wait for the right wallet (the famous one of course and supported and suggested by the bitcointalk community). I will wait if someone successfully redeemed their Bitcoin Gold then that's the time i will trade my bitcoin gold to get "free money".

I think theymos will make a post about how to claim your BTG like he did with BCC

No, I won't. I consider BTG to be a cash-grab, not a serious fork. It doesn't have any ideology or major economic players behind it. I'm not going to make a big announcement and guide anytime creates a pointless little fork like this (which anyone can do at any time with no cost whatsoever).

I will make a guide for B2X, which actually has some economic support.

segwit 2 should not be supported either

Thanks for the answer, I almost forgot about bitcoin gold until I encounter a topic about it.
I followed your guide when I claimed Bitcoin cash and waiting for the same thing for B2X.
For BTG I prefer not claiming it for the moment until things will be more clear.

Don't rush into getting your BitcoinGold if you had money on a private wallet. It is better to be safe than sorry, just wait out the initial craze. Its not worth losing your entire stack for a coin worth so little right now.

exactly be carefull

Thanks admin for the heads up! I'm quiet wondering why this Bitcoin Gold doesn't even give a buzz just like on what happened on Bitcoin Cash and not being posted above regarding on how to claim it. Now, I do know the reason which is actually true. This fork isn't really serious at all and regarding of B2X guide we would really wait up for that. This time would be the best time to secure some nasty amounts of BTC. Cool

Back to topic: Public should really always be keen on the possible scam attempts in the surrounding yet those scammers will really make use of this event to victimized noob people.

Where did you get this info?  is a good warning as there might be ARE hackers trying to scramble for every penny they can get a hold of

This is good advice.

Any downloaded "wallet" that gets access to your use of the blockchain is a obvious threat.

absolutely. i've been watching newbies flock to download malware when altcoins launch for years now. it never ceases to amaze me. at the very least, one should do a basic amount of research: the bitcoin gold team has an official website (btcgpu.org) and twitter. start there. cryptocurrency user or not, nobody should be downloading anything straight off the google search results.

there's already been a pretty widely circulated scam also: twitter.com/btcgpu is an imposter, and he's been sending people to a web site where users input their private keys to claim their BTG. it's clearly a total scam. this space really is a scammer's paradise.
Not actually surprising though since this online world do really have lots of scammers and they do anything as long they can able to make or get money from others easily. Most of them do really go with the flow of the trend which they able to see that they can able to fool specially newbies. This is one of the common times which they do strike and for us who don't have much idea at first will really be easily deceived on this one. This is why instinct and research will really always help you out specially when you are on a doubt. Its always suggested to follow the main site regarding on updates on the recent fork.

Can anyone recommend any reputable BTG wallets? Preferably ones you have used yourself or your friends have used. Thanks for the heads up about these scammy wallets. I'm always skeptical about new downloadable wallets.

Yes, since the fork has begun and the distribution of BTG would be 24 hrs from now. Be more extra careful on your BTG or they might take it away from you, intentionally.

It seems that when a new coin or when bitcoin is at hype,  hackers become more eager. It seems like that times like this motivates them to find a way or ways so that they can do their thing.

With the news of BTG fork,  this will be their opportunity to perform any attack therefore everyone must be careful and must not feel that complacent about the safety of their wallets.  We don't  know if one of the wallets that they will target  is one of hours.

Be careful at times like this and don't get attractivene easily with offers over the site.

It was to be expected, because it happened with Bitcoin Cash too. This time around people should have learned their lesson,

but the developers from Bitcoin Gold is to be blamed for this too. They were not really prepared for this whole fork and people

complained about this before the fork. Who is testing these wallets and the code behind it?

DONT WANT YOU TO LOOSE COINS

Absolutely, I waited until the other week to claim my BCH. I know I sold them for a lot less than I could have if I’d acted quicker. Better to be safe than sorry though.

I will do the same with BTG though & wait until I’m 100% sure it’s safe again.
It seems to me that there is a sense a few years to keep the coin. Of course you can sell it immediately but I doubt that will give you coins, for a decent price. If this coin has no prospects, then the whales will buy up the coins while they are cheap. When they will know that you bought the most coins they can start the game on the rise. Then you will have the chance to earn really good money.

i guess many people wants to make money from the free coins right now because we are see this when bitcoin cash is release yesterday and i think we should learn from the past. and for the links that could be fake, we need to be careful when we click the links in search engine so we can avoid when something might be turn into bad things in future. but as long as we don't click any suspicious links then i think we are safe from the bad things. but once again, be careful when we visit into a website and its better to stay alert.

71% drop since the fork. Who would want to wait? BTG is a dying coin, with no support. Everyone would try to sell it asap, but you are correct better safe than sorry waiting for a day or 2 until the craze is settled would be a good idea.

Christmas season is now here. That's why the hackers are very active nowadays! They know that people have loys of money during this season because of their 13 month pay and Christmas bonus. Be extra careful and vigilant. Do not just click links and site. They strategy now is riding on the popularity of BTG. Transact only with trusted people and websites if you don't want to lose your precious coins.

Everywhere as involved with money will definitely make a lot of work for us to rob. What we do well is to ignore and look carefully. But it's also because you told them instantly because there are many novices who will have information so they can not believe it.
