Then what? Even if you do warn up people they would still make use of this platform.Come to think even just complying some documentations on real-life already exposes up your identity.

They will exactly not listen to your warnings and will still use facebook despite of what you have said. When we are online our data privacy is vulnerable and our personal information is at risk of being stolen and not only our infos but also there are some surveys or quizzes that can be seen in facebook that when you answer, it stores the collected data and used it for other things without our permission. So in order for us to be a little safe using facebook we should not try and click everything that you see in it and we should check always on what information we are giving facebook.

I am a Facebook user, very happy to know that Facebook will finally release libra even though they haven't announced it yet. so far I feel safe, although some cases of data theft still occur.
this is the best experience, and I don't have the intention to leave it yet.

Facebook has become the avenue for information investigation or research. Its really become part of our lives. Personally, I'm using it and I just always make sure to think before what will I post. On the other side relating crypto to facebook, I guess somehow they can trace you. But this should be like a warning to you. So  better not make same password or username that can be related to the information you have in facebook. Nevertheless, always think before or whatever you share on social media. Set limits for yourself's safety somehow.

Beware! You are not safe if you are using facebook

because facebook is a network which is managed by CIA, and not only CIA, there are many more agencies those are tracking you, including all of your activities, and furthermore, facebook does not care about your privacy, last year, facebook sold 250+ million users data.
Yes, I have known this news for quite some time and since then I have been wary of facebook or instagram. All information about my work is discussed and stored on telegram, I think it is the only chat app that is most trusted and will not steal user information.
and I encourage people to use telegram when working in the crypto market, because facebook is quite easy to hacked and they can know your information easily.

I think its not true because our identity in facebook are not full information and some are not real. Others using dummy account so why you said that facebook is not safe?  Your the only one can know your true identity and facebook are not complying you to give your full information. And many people are using facebook so you don't stop them to use it.

To be honest, just about everything is making us give away our personal information these days. Even the KYC documents we have to submit to all of these exchanges are basically doing the same thing. I don't see Facebook messing with any crypto wallets or stealing any users funds, but do expect them to sell your personal information to the government and advertisers. Not much different than I expect all of the KYC information to be used for.

Facebook does not have to sell our data to the government. Such a large database must be under the supervision of government agencies, so if the CIA is involved, it is rather to watch over the security of our data, and not to buy or steal it.
Also, verification of KYC on exchanges is not because they came up with it, but it is required by law. Any legitimate exchange must keep AML/KYC rules. If someone doesn't like it, can use decentralized exchanges.

Just recently there was a whole breach in my country as well and they had to pay restitution to cover it up. Now think about it for a second, there are people who have billions of data points of millions of people in my country all because facebook lacks security and what do we get in return?

Nothing, government just punishes facebook with penalty and that money probably goes to crooked politicians in the end anyway so all of our data is stolen and sold to people and we have nothing in return. Facebook, amazon these are all horrible companies that can still continue to do their horrible deeds because they are "technology companies" instead of being real life hand held stuff, if it was a food company they would have been shut down years ago but since it is tech they are let go.

No platforms are safe. Everything can be hacked, even huge companies like NASA that once been hacked by a single person. It is just a matter of your own security. Like how literate are you on surfing on the internet, clicking site and other things you found interesting. Well I won't get shocked by such issue if facebook would get hack 'cause everything can be.
With Facebook, I think the security has been left to the individual to take charge of by themselves, and the only way that hackers can hack into Facebook is not through the main database but hack into our personal account.

For Facebook security generally, I think that they have one of the best security that I have ever since and If you really watch, I don’t think that Facebook has actually had any issue with security ever since that they have started operation, the only issue that they have had is that of the one they are being accused of selling people’s data and the reason is because they are monetizing the selling off the date for their own benefit. That is the aspect that we need to be more careful about and noting to even be done about that except we stop using Facebook.

I don't want to overreact on that. If you are not comfortable using Facebook because you treasure your privacy, then stay out of the internet and began living the 70s, 80's , 90's life.
Haha I like that and obviously we agreed on their terms and conditions when we signed up and living up on new technology I guess we somehow knew that anytime Facebook system can be hack. So just do prevention like don't store any sensitive information that you think can harm your reputation and your finances as well.

And talking about possible privacy breach, then don't forget Google Chrome.  Wink

Title is right. Nothing is safe when you're using Facebook, that's why I tend to avoid using it unless there is something important to read into. Billions of people wanted to show off their privacy to public, and it's up to them on how would they handle such privacy breach.
I am not sure about if it is really partnered with CIA.
All I can remember back in the day was there was this data leak scandal from Cambridge long time ago, that made me lose my trust to Facebook all in all.
In terms of security facebook is way better than our own government security  for thier website since its been hacked many times.  Angry .
Affraid of security? Then use fake email profile and name so you will not be affraid of it, honestly i see facebook help many people in terms of communication than a threat  for security.

It's better to always look after your securities and not to allow anything to invade your privacy, if there's leak then better to not to take
the risk and stop providing important things using this social site. You can still enjoy the service by checking the sites or to create dummy
account or if you will use your real identity make sure not to reveal all your important datas.

Well, I am not sure this is the correct thread for this topic but even if Facebook was owned by the CIA, I don't see what difference it possibly makes because what would they do with the data? It's not like that want to steal my credit card details to rob me of my funds or sell my information to the black market, infact I would feel better if the CIA owns Facebook and not an individual who could do anything he wants with the information he cultivates (and he has done it before), moreover from what we know (atleast from movies and books), it seems they have superior hacking skills and equipment and can get any information they want.

Facebook been known in leaking information that's why they created in messenger a secret conversation feature that may changed people's thought on them. But little did we know it's just their top up for the issue. We should be aware of what we input in our account in social media try not to give crypto details unless it's about bounties. Never tell your personal info.
To be very honest, this is a bit unfair with Mark. He is not the only puppet in hands of NSA and the higher authorities. Moreover, it is not like Mark has forced anyone of us to use Facebook or other social sites, and publish all personal information on them. Google does the same. It keeps track of us our every moment. Every query gets recorded and google-maps knows well about our location.
Our privacy is in our hands.

Well all of the major US company basically the same, they always gather every single pieces of information and will eventually give it away to the US. I kinda agree though the backlash to Mark is kinda unfair because he's the only one going to court while the rest of major corporate are still gathering information everyday. You can try to talk near your phone and you'll find out the ads about the subject that you're talking before. Facebook have that unfair treatment maybe because people found out about it then it garner the attention of the peolpe and then authority can't do anything but getting mark to court.

matters relating to the use of libra, this will be a serious problem, but if data profile problems etc. so far it has become common knowledge and cia also has the right to immunity to enter in it, we just have to be wise to use the function of social media, I'm sure it's not only facebook that is not safe in terms of privacy. Cambridge Analytica is just the initial wave of system weaknesses owned by Zuckerberg.

Most of them use Facebook using Facebook is not bad but the way you make use of it should be good. And you should not share  all your personal information and keep updating each and every thing Watever happens in life is not safe.

Facebook is useful for communication purpose.

When we are first time registering in Facebook itself we give our information. For example mobile no etc, but we really do not know whether they share our personal data  or not.

Only 1% of the population here will see this topic over 100+ million people in my country. We are so very addicted in using facebook app. What do I want to say? Only few people can understand what OP saying. In fact, even he said about data stealing, many people who saw this will ignore what he said. Facebook is a good platform that connects millions of people around the world. And even it has issue from data stealing, many users will always use it.
