Any news about largecoin ASIC project?

Nope, but I did just stumble across this: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/deepbit-reclaimer-asics-104680 Cheesy

Is this out of the blue? I don't recall hearing anything about deepbit asics.

Therefore, $s/Ghash are estimates. In fact "estimate" implies a guess based in some facts, while this is based simply on the claims of the merchants.
From what we've seen in the past, my estimate is that BFL claims are likely overblown. I don't know enough about cablepair's history, so I can't make estimates there.

Their first product's specs were overblown (1GH/s@20Watts ?), but the estimates for their 2nd product were pretty damn accurate (25GH/[email protected] vs. 25.2GH/[email protected]).

I did the math:

BTCFPGA bASIC $1069.99 ÷ 27GH = $39.63/GH
1 year warranty
projected to ship in November/December of 2012

BFL Single 'SC' $1299.00 ÷ 40GH = $32.48/GH
6 month warranty
projected to ship in October of 2012

but yes, competition is good.

Looking good cablepair  Grin

Price is spot on with BFL,or close enough for me & the warranty is great  Wink

Now will he be offering the buyback (trade in) like BFL does??? He was talking about it,If so,then a really great deal for his old customer base too  Cool

Aren't these numbers estimates though? I think it may be a little too early to decide.

The GH/s numbers are estimates, but the prices are already set.

Is transparent possible? Wink

well, my admittedly limited understanding of PCB functionality being what it is, i don't see why not. i mean, the material the substrate is made of doesn't matter at long as it's nonconducting, right? sure, they're usually... what, some sort of fiberglass based board? but couldn't a PCB just as easily be plastic or glass, technically speaking, anyway?

*ahem* sorry. i got off on a bit of a tangent there...

People have used glass and semitransparent flexible materials such as kapton, however I think economically glass is more expensive and kapton doesn't have high heat/chemical resistance.

well, i never said it would be ideal, just possible. Cheesy

I hope they arent gonna be that crappy white color like your fpgas lol

we can have the pcb boards silk screened to be any color pretty much have not gotten that far yet to pick out a color
i just hate that standard green pcb look

The white was actually my idea, lol is it really that ugly?

The white is horrible, reminde me of 1970's prototyping boards!

I vote red!

p.s. Ordered and paid for 2. Excited!

crimson is good too Smiley

Still no word on MHs/J. This could get interesting especially for people with expensive electricity... Even if one has higher cost per MHs it might be cheaper in the long run due to using less power.

It'll definitely be interesting to see finalized specs for both.

yes it does, obviously you have been watching my 24 hour countdown and need to refresh your cache

the redirect has been working since about 2pm EST

for help refreshing your cache I would check youtube for an instructional video

btw: your welcome for my technical help

I'm not sure it's web development best practice to make your users clear their cache but thanks for the assistance.

Now back to the topic at hand. It's seems that Tom has made a claim that they have an actual prototype.

27Gh/s is not an estimate its based on real testing of a real prototype

and again we are using very basic software at this point, the speed is likely to increase once my software guys get to work on the firmware and mining software

Tom, please provide a video of the prototype working on a pool.

Thanks,
gigavps

I wish you asked Trendon for a video before letting him rip off the whole community. Karma is a bitch.
