Another day, another difficulty increase and NO hardware.  Such clown shoes.

What kind of person would order from BFL currently.  There is hope and then there is stupid.  Roll Eyes

Isn't there a single entity that can be contacted to audit their books to make sure the funds are still safe in case all moneys needed to be returned?

FTC?

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
I wonder if BFL is doing samples because they no longer have the cash to pay for a full production run.
If they are making changes to the chips (the only non-cash reason I can think of (without coffee) for still doing sample runs) then they still have to pay for a new mask and full production run. Those are pricey, and BFL may have burned all it's cash.

After all, top flight product managers don't come cheap!  Grin

Chances are very good that there'll getting low on cash, for legally they can't touch a single penny of the pre-order dollars until they start shipping out en mass.

I will give away (as a gift) 25 cents (to get a clue) to the first person who makes a thread (as a BFL shill only) that says BFL is expected to ship 500 units by May 20th.

Because, as we all know, they will ship at least that many by the 20th....right?

Wait I haven't been following this too closely...

Didn't BFL say they were shipping, April 1st?

Wasn't there like a big bet or something that they won because they were shipping?

It seems to me like they are still trying to get a production-ready prototype designed. Wouldn't that mean they are sort of far off any sort of reasonable amount of shipping to customers?

Personally I'm amazed that people still have the will to troll BFL. At this point it's not even funny what they (BFL) are doing, it's just flat out sad.

And yet people still "buy" BFL "products".

As a miner, I love BFL. If only ASICMiner had as much trouble delivering.  Angry

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes.

Actual competence may weaken self-confidence, as competent individuals may falsely assume that others have an equivalent understanding. David Dunning and Justin Kruger of Cornell University conclude, "the miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, whereas the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others".

Dunning and Kruger proposed that, for a given skill, incompetent people will:

    tend to overestimate their own level of skill;
    fail to recognize genuine skill in others;
    fail to recognize the extremity of their inadequacy;
    recognize and acknowledge their own previous lack of skill, if they are exposed to training for that skill.

I figure that once the boards are ready and the chips are tested, this means they need approximately 8-10 weeks BEFORE they can start PRODUCTION in full.

Because that is how long it takes.

Uh oh. More bad news for BFL customers Sad

Well the other variation is they have ordered all the chips and are now sending faulty chips everywhere.
