New single case

A bit hard to tell how bit it is without something next to it as a reference.

It's about twice the size of the original single, and it has two fans inside, at opposite ends.

BTW  People that ordered a mini-rig will make their money back in a few months even if the difficulty goes to 400 million, moron.  Get a fucking clue.

No need for insults.

After August it will be hard for every ASIC to be profitable. Whether it's a Jalapeno, a Single SC or a Mini Rig. And I doubt that the majority of BFL customers will have their miners by then.

When I ordered in July, I was aware of the negative sentiment towards pre orders and "the BFL experience" with the original BFL Singles.
I prepared myself that this would be similar - it was.
They are now delivering. Slowly. Just Like Before.  Smiley

Of course I realise that "at some stage" may be too late, but I'm not going to be 'fucked' because its money I can 'write off' if needed, it was a gamble when I pre-ordered, and there is no point in taking a gamble if you can't deal with losing.

I'd call that Stockholm syndrome  Wink

This "I did it just for fun" is often used by people that don't want to admit to themselves that they're fucked. Kind of sugarcoating reality ...

btw: What about those that paid 30k$ for Mini Rigs? Was that also just a gamble?

Nope. Stockholm Syndrome would be if the person would still LOVE BFL for it.

If I get my ASIC in December, im gonna write it off too. but im gonna be pissed as hell and never ever buy anything from them ever again, spread the word and so on. If i get it in october, im gonna jump around a bit and not be happy, but id say "shit happens."

lol  There's just no winning with you.  So much hate.  The guy gives you a perfectly reasonable answer and you find some way to shit on it.

It's hilarious that you don't have the objectivity and self-awareness to see your own bile.  Keep spewing, angry little fella!!   I love it!!   Cheesy

It is always a gamble, no matter what anyone says. It is not like there is a store shelf to take a unit from. I liken it to trading at gox with 30min lag, maybe you make a good trade or maybe you are fucked.

I have to say that my window of opportunity is closing fast and when it does I will reassess, get a refund or pass the risk onto someone else. There really isn't anything else to say on the matter.

[/end all BFL threads]

EDIT: By the way I will NEVER use a preorder again, the company should take the risk as in the real world.

It's really no different than the Avalon pre-orders going on right now in this forum. It's just another kickstarter style method of capital raising ro cover the development and initial production costs. If you are scared of pre-ordering  then make sure you use Paypal or some other method that can reverse transactions if necessary. Do not pay in BTC or cash.

I have no more idea of an expected delivery date, just a little more convinced that there will be be one at some stage.

It's because of people like you that BFL isn't belly up yet.

You do realize that "at some stage" might be too late to even make your investment back? In August there will be an ASIC flood - if you receive your device after that, well, good luck then, but you'll be fucked.

No one is arguing, BFL have royally screwed up, mis-management, poor decisions no doubt, but I doubt it was wilful, its very easy to be a smart arse after the event.

The point of my post was for anyone who is still waiting on a pre-order from BFL, this is good news, there were rumours that BFL were a complete scam and they had no intention of ever delivering an ASIC device, everything was smoke and mirrors and they were just stringing everyone along until they did a runner. Well this looks less likely now.

This is good news (I appreciate it was designed as such) for a ASIC mining wannabe like me.
Perhaps I will not have to write-off my BFL pre-order after all.
At least they have a working product, not yet up to their initial expectations but, it is a working product.

Great! They started to ship 10pcs / day.

They started shipping crap out because Paypal threatened them.

Care to back that up with proof?

Sure.

We have begun shipping orders from 6/23 and a few that we are required to ship by PayPal.

(The reason I say boring, is that I will need to post for awhile that we are shipping orders from 6/23 since our customers flooded our order deck on that day.)

lol

Too funny that BFL cares about some payment processor's demands while totally ignoring FTC prompt delivery regulations.

"NP, we'll just package up a few of these half baked frankenboxes and call them Jalapeno v0.5s! That'll get those annoying fools at fleabay off our backs while we continue looting people with our pyramid bait and switch scam!"

EDIT: In the comments section, quotes from BFL_Jody:

Quote
Because we have not shipped for such a long time PayPal is requiring us to ship a small number of the orders made through them and send them the tracking numbers.

Quote
It's not because of chargebacks. The customers are not triggering this. It's to give PayPal themselves peace of mind

Holy crap this company is a disaster. The only thing they ever seem concerned about is the supply of incoming funds. Roll Eyes

my order number 454xx, placed on April 22. 25GH/s, wish can get it this year.

If they have taken that many orders, then I would expect BFL to outsource the assembly to some contracted high volume specialists, and dispatch to some fulfilment house.

great, if they can ship to customers rather than trying to generate more hype, the will be great.

I'm 390xx, 50GH/s, April 10. I would have thought there'd be more orders between us. Rumour has it that a lot (~50%) of orders end up unpaid (i.e, buyer's remorse), so there could be fewer than 3,000 orders between us.
