Of course now all their employees except BCP19 are sitting around shooting the breeze waiting for God to fix their Revision Z boards so have time to do "speedy RMAs".

But I'm not bitter or anything  Roll Eyes Cry

Are you kidding me, the plants probably running 24/7 pumping out unsellable 300gh/s cards for the farm... Wink

Hope BFL follows thru for you!! They're ok I guess on RMA's,BUT DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from them, they take forever to make & ship stuff  Cheesy

Thought you'd do good with ol lightfoot,I'm amazed at what he did with his miners  Wink

I would object to that, at least in my experience.  I received my Day 1 pre-order on July 8th 2013 and less than 4 days later it was dead - losing over 1BTC per day.  BFL took a total of 13 days to complete my RMA and this was with me sending it Express next morning shipping and BFL sending it back Priority.

To byt411:  Guess what.  They are proving you wrong so far.

To Unacceptable:  I have been in touch with Lightfoot.  He is the end all be all when it comes to BFL Miners.  I read a lot of his posts and plan in trying to do some of the stuff he has done.  This is an education for me.

To bcp19: I am a registered user of the Butterfly Labs site, so I used the RMA form.

To byt411:  Guess what.  They are proving you wrong so far.

Butterfly Labs got back to me and stated they will accept my RMA, very professional and very quick response.  Sent them my shipping address since this is second hand and I am now awaiting further instructions.  I know there are a lot of posts out there regarding poor customer support, but so far top notch.

Hello All,

I purchased a Butterfly Labs 30GH from Ebay.  I did not go into this blind.  They told me that it was DOA, figured for 25 dollars what the heck.  What I found was a burn spot on the PCB board right below the asic and right above R40 and R42.  Looks like the placement was C11?.  First does anyone know what this is on the board?  Can it be fixed?  I sent an e-mail to Butterfly Labs asking if they would RMA it since it was the board.  We will see what they have to say.  Otherwise just getting ideas on what I could do.

Thanks for any help.  Let me know if you would like a picture of the board. For additional info.

John
Did you email directly or did you use the form on the website?  http://butterflylabs.com/technical-support/ is the link, make sure you mention that it is a 3rd party RMA.
BFL had RMA 2 times for me back when I had singles and they were all bought second hand. It was about a 1 week or less turn around. They shipped  a new miner. The problem you have now is they no longer sell them I think and not sure what kind of inventory they have on hand as I quit following them months ago. Good luck.

Butterfly Labs are scammers, so no, they won't RMA at all.
I suppose it's some resistor or capacitor, but without pictures I don't know. Fixing it would yield nothing anyway, so don't even bother.
