I now restarted it with Win7 compatibility mode, maybe it helps.

** Note **

If anyone network wide doesn't agree with the hash on chainz explorer:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bbp/

please upgrade to 1.4.4.0 and type 'exec reassesschains'.

I believe it is best if we have most of our users upgraded to 1.4.4.0 to ensure the protocol versions match and aim to create less network traffic across versions etc.

It usually crashes about 5 minutes into mining, after it launches and sync's into the network. Windows 10, 64bit home edition. I will launch the program, unlock the wallet, and then leave it at that (walking away from the PC) to return and check a little later.

Ok, I don't have windows 10 and that probably explains why all these reports are on win10 boxes.
Ill try to make it a point to get windows 10 on one of my machines soon.

In the mean time, could you try adding:
debug=1
debugspam=1

To the log, and next crash please snip the end of the log leading up to it and lets see what it was doing.

Thanks.

Absolutely! I will report back here if/when it happens again.

Well, it appears that I spoke too soon, but it gave me a log to give to you. My 3rd PC is a little bit older, but it just had the windows client close out abruptly after about 5 minutes. I took a small snapshot of the last of the debug.log before I re-opened it.

Ok yeah, the log does not show anything revealing, but nevertheless, what windows OS was it, and what was the status of the box, was it synced fully, and does it normally run fine for how many days straight, and what was it doing right before it exited abruptly (was it mining) or did you type something in etc?

BiblePay - 1.4.4.0
Leisure Upgrade for Users/Mandatory Upgrade for Sancs

  • Modify Sanctuary GSC contract to account for maximum possible QT
    change in 24 hours
  • Enhance spork for replaying blocks, allowing the wallet to Reassess
    all non-main-chains
  • Add payment limits information to exec testgscvote
  • Add exec reassesschains command (this allows the user to manually kick
    off a reassess
  • Increment protocol version to force a mandatory sanctuary upgrade to
    70735

Thanks for the welcome.  Gilligan is too nice. I'm pretty sure he's more of a help to me. Just reading that testnet topic on the Biblepay forum blows my mind.

Can you please tell me how to do this upgrade for windows? Appears I'm lagging here as 177 of 186 MN are now running the new version.

To upgrade windows, you can just download the new version from the website (biblepay.org | Top level menu | Wallet downloads), save it to the drive, unblock it, run it, let it overwrite the old version, then when you re-run it, it will be the latest.

Be careful though. This only works if you have your BBP wallet installed in the standard Windows directory (Program Files). If you are like me and have an extra folder for your mining/coin stuff, you have to manually select the correct installation folder every time you upgrade the BBP wallet, because the installer does not look for the actual installation folder.

Just upgraded Win and Sanc wallets. I had to "Start" my sanc again, because right after upgrade it said "node just started, not yet activated". Is this expected to be required, or was I just too impatient? Nevertheless, it all works fine now on 1.4.4.0. CPU utilization in windows also seems to be roundabout the same as before (I'm using limit 8, sleep 10 on an older Xeon 1230v3 to get approx. 50% utilization).

Once a new protocol version is found on the network (70735), the older sancs on older proto versions go into new_start_required states and they must upgrade.

(This only applies to mandatory sanc upgrades, where our proto version has increased like yesterday).

Try setting genproclimit=19 in your config file, restart wallet, and type getmininginfo, and tell us if your genproclimit is 19 (honoring the conf file setting)?

Well, it appears that I spoke too soon, but it gave me a log to give to you. My 3rd PC is a little bit older, but it just had the windows client close out abruptly after about 5 minutes. I took a small snapshot of the last of the debug.log before I re-opened it.

Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Rob, I'm still not exactly sure how the POG leaderboard works. For example I currently have "owed" coins 561.1 with a prominence of 0.6. This is the exakt same amount like someone called "trumpfan" has.
However, I have more than 20x the amount of "points" on the leaderboard than him. So how do these translate to the owed amount? Or is this just another hickup in the time frame of both columns?

Also, talking to a friend of mine who hasn't enough BBP for the new masternodes, it seems like just doing POG pays a lot better than the sancs. He made several hundered thousand BBP in one week. Of course this will slowly decrease with his lower coin age, but it's still orders of magnitude higher than sanc payments.

This leaderboard reconciliation is an easy one; first on the amount owed as compared to the prominence matching it up - no that was actually fixed and you should not have a problem at all in that area.  If you look at the prominence %, say its .10 for someone, and knowing the daily superblock value (its usually about 950K) that would equal a 95,000 bbp reward.
But specifically TrumpFan as compared to you:  We have 2 campaigns in prod : Pog & healing.  Hes in Healing (Healing gets 5% of the GSC per day).  So click on "DETAILS VIEW", and scroll up to Trump Fan - and notice today he is the only one with a healing diary entry (Im slacking today as Im working in Develop lol).  So he has this 46.7K boost.  Then you can clearly see all the other prominence % lines up relative to each other.

Yes, on our GSC rewards as compared to Sancs, I agree, we are talking about a 500% higher payout ratio for locked up BBP in the GSC land right now.  Thats very surprising to me, in that POG/Healing pays so much, I expected to see at least 2-3 new users per day in the leaderboard jumping in and evening this out.   We have had about 33 participants a day, and we are going sideways.  I make a bold call:  this wont last too long, as both POBH mining is very profitable right now ($50 per month per PC), GSC is 500% too profitable, etc.  So the only way out is that we pick up new users.  I predict that we will double our user base by Christmas, as long as this profitability continues.  But yes, people would not want to start a new sanc right now with the BBP, they would want to use it in POG until POG gets less profitable.

Thank you for the explanation. I didn't realize that second campaing, gotta have a look at it someday.

How do you come up with "50$ per month per PC" for POBH? This seems way too much. My Xeon 1230v3 makes approx. 500 BBP per day (at 50-60 % CPU load), so let's say someone cranks 1k BBP per day with such a CPU. This would be 30k BBP per month, or approx. 12$ (as of the current price). I don't know of any "PC" having a CPU 4-5 times as powerful. Wink

On the $50 per PC estimate, note that I am referring to the very recent environment with 100,000 ABN weight, with difficulty dropping below 9K.

I calculated this from my Ryzen windows box, it appears I will receive about 120K BBP per month from the pool if I run it with 5 threads constantly.

I have a 500 or 600 watt power supply in this test box.

Note that I agree with your numbers when ABN is off (I make 10% of this amount and the entire pool only solves 10 blocks per day).  With ABN on, the pool solves 30 blocks per day and pays more to less people in the pool.

Appears ABN is now down to 1000?

I'm getting errors across two PC's that my ABN weight is too low to mine.

I have 370k coins, and 269753 weight.

"abninfo": "(1000 ABN OK) Amount=2808.00, Weight = 2954.87; ABN weight is too low to mine; ABN weight is too low to mine; ",

EDIT: 11:50AM issue resolved on 2nd PC.

I wanted to allow the network to build up a high diff, until our superblock emitted.
It looks like we emitted our superblock successfully today, and everything looks healthy now.

So, I just increased ABN back to 100K (where it was yesterday).

You can do an 'exec getabnweight 100000' and paste it (wait about 4 more blocks please) if you still cant mine.

Thank you for the hasty response, as far as the log goes I didn't have the ability to be able to read through and understand what I was reading. It hasn't happened since I initially posted about it, however. I will do some digging to see if I can help out though! Would you rather me PM you portions of log or post them on here?

To be honest, my 4 core Intel i7 4790k (8 threads) pulls about 112-130,000 hashes per second. With ABN enabled previously, I mined an upward of 7-8k in 12 hours. Lucky maybe? It was pool mining on pool.biblepay.org

As of recent it may be closer to about 3800 a day, as I took a day off to try out PoG and see what it was like (used my weight) and now I have enough weight to mine again so I will be switching back over.
Well, that's strange. I have my PC (as described above) making 75-80k HPS and a couple of smaller machines running 24/7, which sum up to another 100-120k. So in total I should be quite ahead of you HPS-wise. However over the last couple of weeks I never made more than 2-3k BBP per 24 hours (as can be easily seen on the pool.biblepay.org home screen (immature balance).

I have to keep a close eye on it to make sure its actually mining right too, because of previous issues that I had.

Edit: Checking on block distribution, it appears you're earning x2 that I am right now. (You do have more hashpower, you're around 180k)

Maybe it's partially because my Win10 QT wallet crashed quite often over the last couple of days. I now restarted it with zapwallettxes=1, let's see if it helps.

Hmm, I never saw a crash in Biblepay-Evo personally on windows and I have multiple windows instances.  I've also never heard back from anyone with a crash with an explanation once I asked certain questions.

So just to clarify, a crash is when the program exits with an unhandled exception.
Are you sure Biblepay didnt exit with a handled exception (such as not having a best block pointer, or needing a resync)?

What exactly happens in your situation when the program ends?  Anything in the log?
I would appreciate it if anyone that has a crash more than once enters a description and a github issue (we dont have any github issues for a windows crash).

That was my precise problem as well, dealing with random crashes and then getting pushed from the pool in mid mining (which required a restart too.)

But hopefully that's in the past, things have been far more stable as of recently, other than the pool getting less blocks than usual. Difficulty is sky high with ABN on even.

Wink
