Current Cancer Research Mining requires 500 BBP per 1 Magnitude,
it defaults the staking of utxoamount to 50000,
April 1st we will see the staking requirement become 20 BBP per 1 RAC

Use "exec getboincinfo" command to see your Magnitude and RAC
And add or edit "utxoamount=X" in your biblepay.conf file

If you dont have enough BBP to fully stake you will still get rewarded, you will just get a smaller percentage of rewards

its been using the 1 core that it says for staking, in the one guide... for at least a week.

it would be solving tasks if there were tasks to be solved? :D rosetta@home is empty.

Sorry mate, you may need to point me to the one core for staking thing. I thought it should be one core for the BBP wallet, the rest for Rosetta.
Yeah, I guess they will add more soon. It's still the weekend there I guess.

https://www.reddit.com/r/BiblePay/comments/6umlqq/how_to_mine_biblepay_on_windows/

is where i got the 1 core part, but im too tired to search for the rest, it had said something about to stake u needed at least 1 core running on the wallet.

regardless, if the other guy is able to get 200 bbp a day on an android, and i am using a 3.5ghz cpu, even at just 1 core.. i should have received well over 1400 in the past week, and i been having it run since the 8th, 18 days...

even if not much mining was being done, but you said my RAC and stuff was fine... wouldn't i have gotten staking rewards?????

[/quote]

You need one thread running in order for the wallet to be able to send PODC-updates. The wallet does this automatically, so you don't have to do/change anything.

it was 1, it is currently 10.

and i have disabled all the "suspend" things in boinc, and they have been disabled since install on the 9th

says i've completed 108 tasks...

Again, according to the block-explorer, you didn't send out PODC-updates between the 12th and the evening of the 24th. If you don't send those updates - whatever the reason may be (not completing tasks, outdated wallet, wallet offline) - you won't get included in the next superblock.

He sent me a screenshot and his account matches the one I found, but the details are different. Rosetta website has him solving 2 tasks, but the boinc software has him solving 108!
Seems to be an error on the boinc end. I would consider un and then re installing boinc, creating a fresh account

Maybe it's his buggy Boinc-client that prevents the Rosetta@home servers from sending out new tasks Grin Just kidding.

Okay, that's strange. I really was under the impression that an adjustment was made to 500 BBP/RAC. I guess I'm going to have to wait for Rob to clarify this Smiley

I couldn't find the code that do the real calculcation. You could still be right, the code I posted was only the one that defines the amount (or better: default) of staking by the user, not the one what is required in the end Smiley
So it could still be 500bbp/mag right now, but the client always stakes 50001 bbp per default.

I'm confused right now, but I think Rob can explain it when he is online, so that I can set the right value in the Documentation ^^

Ah, yes. It's probably the way you say it: the wallet tries to stake 50001 BBP by default, but what is actually needed is 500 BBP/RAC. We'll indeed just have to wait for Rob (if he is able to plow through all the new pages, haha!).

Ok, sorry, I meant private/secret pool. The pool source is on github.
That makes more sense. But what is stopping them from acquiring or using their already mined coins to then gain more power over the network as normal people leave because of the new requirements to mine?
I don't know exactly how that works as I am not an expert, but I can say that since switching to the new system I am currently (as in today) getting around 7x the rewards I was before we switched, and I am using less computers now. So if nothing else the problem has eased.
I don't know the long term ramifications of a botnet and what they can and can't do.

I would like to point out a couple of thing though.

1. Anyone with an ARM cpu mobile device can solve Rosetta tasks and earn rewards without any stake. This was to ensure that users in poor countries can earn some BBP. But of course if you have an ARM device then you can do the same.

2. A standard home pc could probably generate 1000 RAC. At 20 BBP/RAC that is less than a $50 investment which I know some will still not like. And just to point out (although you know this, but for others) that the stake remains yours, you don;t sell it in order to be able to mine. You just hold it as long as you need to.

3. The staking was aimed at making the distribution more even. Since we had many very large Rosetta miners, it was thought that they would just dump on the exchange. Making them have a large stake gives a bit more certainty to the coin. Also, it locks up a lot of our supply which supports the price.

I know this has the added side effect that it can be difficult for some people to start mining. But it is a tough challenge to solve and we have done our best so far.

Nice overview znffal Smiley

Aside from killing the botnet: we can now provide access to BBP for people without PC's and make it very costly for BIG miners to get into the game.

For the middle-man, yes, there is a small barrier, and unfortunately that might scare away some people, but we're trying our best to make it all as easy as possible. In the next month, after the poll-voting ends and the new website is up, things should become much better to understand.

Yeah, it's 500 BBP/MAG until April 01 Smiley
The 50'001 BBP requirement was dropped.

Ok, I missed that, but the source code seems to still use 50001 for staking as default:
double dUTXOAmount = cdbl(GetArg("-utxoamount", "50001"), 2);

So I might still keep the comment about the utxoamount, but fix the calculation Smiley

I noticed the most of my servers are sleeping, they don't have any task from Rosetta. How can I request more tasks for my servers?
Is it bug from rosetta or it's a feature and I should only wait?
Thanks.
We seem to have solved all of the Rosetta tasks (except for android).
We have to wait until they add more (it is the weekend now/early Monday).

Maybe we will add other research programs to avoid this in the future.

You only get "staking" rewards for solving computational biology problems on Rosetta. As I mentioned before, almost all of your tasks were aborted, took too long, or not started on time. My guess is that you had many other things running on your computer so Rosetta stood idle (this is it's default behaviour, to only use left-over cpu).
OK so in the biblepay wallet config file, what is your genproclimit?
