I found this interesting graphic today. It shows the S&P 500 development 2009 and 2016. Do you see the similarities?

This will be very interersting to watch.
Be aware, though it looks similiar, the economy is different today.
2008 was 2008, there have been a lot of changes behind the stage, about banks and their financial structure.
2016 is NOT 2008! You will see the difference end of this year.

You are right! The world has had half the debts in 2008. Seriously, there were implemented new financial instruments and rules like Basel III and others. But they all will not help when the crash happens.

All banks around the world are struggling with defaulted toxic loans, especially loans given to companies exploring and mining natural resources.

You never know what can happen in the future. It is very hard to predict a currency and that is very bad.
You just only have to wait and what is going to happen in the future. But holding is better than spend now on this time.

I don't think things will be that bad actually. Call me an optimist but I believe that if Mankind uses his loaf more we can find a lot of solutions to the current problems that ail us. Bitcoin won't be banned by the West because that will go against civil rights and liberties but it might be more regulated because of tax evasion laws becoming enforce in Europe and tighter controls and collaborations between banks happening now. Bitcoin is a bit too big to die now as it is a prototype of what is to come. Money is already becoming more digital. In Greece now peeps have to use a lot of plastic instead of cash because tax evasion is rife and the Government is trying hard to put a lid on it. Money will become more and more digital so there will be a place for Bitcoin for a long time to come yet.

Its hard to predict mate. You never know what can happen later in the future. Because it is a currency you never know what will happen in the future.
There are risks of course if you are investing in a currency. But the risk you must take to get some profit later.

Funny in a way it's like bitcoin is like any company average on the S&P index.  But bitcoin got a better up during the last few months. Which could mean Bitcoin will outperfom the index in the future.

Well since that this topic was made about 2 months ago and nothing has happened to Bitcoin since, this is just a stupid topic.

It was for the mere audience.
And a crisis is a honor for every currency, when its surpassed.

Just to let you guys know a big crash is coming in 2016 in the economy. There is going to be a huge financial crisis but it will be worse than 2009.
The bitcoin price will skyrocket to over $10,000. However  bitcoin will be banned in all western countries. If you are reading this living in the west you should make preparations to move to Russia or China they are the only places you will be safe owning bitcoins.

The crisis will be so big it will destroy entire countries and in 2017 there will be a civil war in the USA, UK and western europe. After this the world will never be the same again it will change so much by 2020 it will be unrecognizable compared to today.

The person who posted this has amazing incite.  I predict that the population of the world will half in five years.  Putin and Trump will go to war.  China will join in.  Diesh will hit the the USA with a massive dirty nuclear attack and there will be massive casualties.   America will fall and fill Europe with more refugees from the US.

Bitcoin will be the only currency.  But people will survive and it will be a better world.
I look forward to our uncertain future.

$10.000 is not a reasonable price for bitcoin now, today (2016) im not see any signs about war in 2017  Undecided
anyway it's can be real if donal trumph ban muslim but the war not only in europe, usa , Uk, the maybe w will see the new world war  Lips sealed

No more big crashes. Most crashes were over. We can expect the halving as crash if there is not much price increase as most speculations.

You dont know what can happen later in the future. It is hard to predict a currency and that is very risky.
But if you are looking now at the value you can see that the price is now rising and that is very good for those who made an investment.

I little chance for prediction still exists though. Look at the market capitalization. This huge stock pile wont vanish in a sudden, if at all.
Look at the secondary markets, grown around BTC. It is more like they are lookin for any way to get into business.
And there is only ONE way, make transfers cheap, reliable, and fast. So small businesses will join. There rest is just common business.

The crash mentioned in the title and OP is a global crash not a crash in bitcoin price.

The lack of reading skills here is shocking sometimes.

Yes. The big crash of bitcoin came in the November of 2013. From August 2015 onwards, it is in the rising trend.

What Crash?  Wink Bitcoin price continues to climb since a few days ago.I f you think you have enough profit, you can sell now or Hold for sometime and observe the market movement. Its also possible that it will skyrocket ,but wko knows  Grin

When folks sell their bitcoins in halving, there will be a crash because of surplus of bitcoin and there is a poor demand from buyers.

If the price does not rise too much because of the halving, I think the price will not crash. Just 30% down.
There's no possibility after halving that the price will down.. And i think it will still increase after halving even you are selling your bitcoins on halving ends.. If the halving is done the price fluctuate will slow changing.. The price of bitcoin will not rise fast unlike before..

You can't say that there is no way the price will go down again after halving, we can all hope for it but it is still a possibility.  At some point there will be an economical crash in the US, which will cascade into other countries.  The US has the biggest credit card bubble in history, there are too many people not paying their debt.  Eventually it will catch up with "too big to fail" companies and then things will start spiraling down.  What happens when the US defaults on it's loans?  Especially since the government thinks it can just keep increasing the debt.
