To me it seems that Bitcoin remains the no. 1 crypto currency "type of system", at least in the near future.

But there's upcoming big players in the alt / asset world, and in this topic we put together
and compare (not bash!) new groundbreaking tech and possible consequences ( to society,
economy, internet...) of those potential future currencies / assets / projects.

Ethereum
MaidSafeCoin
SuperNET
InstantDEX
etc

This topic is not about coming here and post an ad of your upcoming P&D coin X or
"your project and tech sucks, this X coin is better (because I own X coin)".

Let's discuss  Smiley

I definitely think that the people who say Bitcoin will die from another Altcoin is just not feasible. The amount of momentum and head start that Bitcoin initiated will be hitting a critical mass that no other Altcoin can touch. However I do think later down the road, Bitcoin will not be the only cryptocurrency out there. The market cap in the cryptoworld will consist of probably 80% Bitcoin, 18% of 5-10 Altcoins that are fundamentally different from Bitcoin (e.g. Ethereum), and 2% of random dying or small specific function based coins.

I am curious today about how Enthereum will play into the Bitcoin ecosystem and the linkage between Ether and Bitcoin. Not sure what to think about XRP and Ripple that is primarily geared for usage of large corporations and banks.

Safecoin is the only one with future together with Bitcoin.

Wait for it, and you will realize.

It's funny see people saying NXT, Monero, Supernet, Sky, NEM.... All of them DON'T HAVE A CHANGE!

Only Safecoin can compite with Bitcoin. Safecoin and SAFE network is the most disrupting thing out there, it's the biggest thing, the design is perfect and inspired by nature.

Safenetwork is of course MUCH MORE than Safecoin, Safecoin is only one small part of the system.

I think digibyte is a very promising coin which may become a big player in the future market.

I think DigiByte has the most promise to bring wide adoption to crypto as a true online currency.  They seem to be working hard to make it easy for the average joe-schmo to get, and use the coin for something other than speculation. The only other coin that is truly being used to buy a variety of things is Bitcoin.

The big player that will win will be the one who masters the art of marketing cryptocurrency to newbies.

Exactly. I my opinion this will be Startcoin (https://startcoin.org/). The startjoin (https://www.startjoin.com/), Bank To the Future (https://bnktothefuture.com/), Startjoin TV, RT ++ grouping will ensure marketing on a scale newer seen before in the altcoin world.

we can all agree the cia and people at goldman aren't stupid. what if they are already behind nxt!? no one ever thought about that heh?

if goldman will ever be behind a coin, this coin will have a market cap > 1 billion for sure.

And it would be announced very openly. In a nutshell, the "Goldman attitude" is deeply-rooted pride. Pride that (we know) sometimes goeth before a fall, but pride nonetheless. What we call conniving, the Goldman prideful call "public service."

People like that do not operate in the shadows by habit. If they unveiled a cryptocurrency they're behind, they'd be proud as all get-out about it. They wouldn't hide their involvement, they'd trumpet it. At the very minimum, the executive in charge would be asked: "If this builds our brand, why aren't we doing this in the open? Why do you want to hide what we should be showing off?"

The answer, in another nutshell: face-saving. If Goldman's involved in crypto-currency behind the scenes, then management thinks it's too risky for Goldman to back openly. This way, the big Goldmanites can pull back and say: "We were interested in this cryptocurrency stuff, but your management decided that it was too injurious to our brand so we stayed out of it."

Or: "Your management has been top of cryptocurrency since its early days, but wisely decided to move in slowly because it was too controversial and not stress-tested sufficiently. When it became clear that cryprocurency would add to Goldman's brand, management was ready to go. Thanks to management's foresight and prudence, Goldman is now a leading-edge leader in cryptocurrency."
