My biggest bitcoin loss was around 0.6 BTC only. Let me share my experience. I was so broke by the time I received my coin and I'm unable to transfer it to Yobit because I don't have enough. I waited for my next pay day. Finally, I bought some ETH and transferred my coin to yobit. It only took 3 days for the value to go down by almost 75%. I should have gotten more if I have ETH the moment I receive my coin. I already learned my lesson and this will not happen again. BTW, holding that coin will be a bad decision because of the poor product.

I am not sure if I am putting this in the right section.

Anyway, what are some of your guys biggest bitcoin losses?  Did many people here loss everything with Mtcox?  For me it is online casinos.  I do have a moderate gambling habit so it was bound to happen.  Cry

I never experience to lose a huge amount of profit but only just a few, let say we cannot handle the pressure in the market because of the volatility so it was normal sometimes to sell your coins at its lowest price because of your doubt if it will increase again or not.

Yeah and since we cannot predict the market of crypto currency that's why sometines we dump our coin because we think It Is the maximum level of Its market or we mean to target that value In order to dump. So far, I don't have yet experience those biggest loose In bitcoin, but I hope It won't be happen on to me In the near future.

Maybe some people must have experienced the same mistakes, lost some btc. I think it's not bad because with mistakes we can learn from it. Is losing 0.75BTC a big loss when bet on europe cup yesterday?

I have started to trade currency a while ago and I understood one important thing which is staying away from being overly emotional when you deal with the market.

i've lost money with bitcoin.  Part of dealing with any sort of new technology is to manage risk, so none of my losses were crippling or particularly unexpected. So among the ways that I've lost money:
.. MtGox owes me about USD 200.
..i've probably lost on the order of a few hundreds dollars over the last month trading bitcoin.

Well I have not bought bitcoin yet but I know friends who missed the opportunity to own huge amount of coins when bitcoin was very affordable.Today most of them have regretted big time for not enrolling on the bitcoin opportunity when it was presented to them way back in 2009.Now all those people are serious and want to own bitcoin.

The only time I've had any bitcoin losses were because of my own stupidity, most of them which I earned back very quickly, so it didn't affect me much when my btc recovered. My biggest personal loss was 5 btc, I invested in the wrong altcoins.

There is absolutely no reason to freak out since eventually we will see the bitcoin getting back to its stability and start hitting its peak.
If dip is what freaks out someone then I think he should first learn about bitcoin A to Z. this is a very basic fact about not only just bitcoin but the whole digital market that it bears a volatile nature which means there will be fluctuation including positive and negative ones, from time to time. This is the essence of bitcoin that its price changes the most allowing to gain tremendous profits.

with BTC tanking, these losses dont look so bad do they?

The losses might not look bad, but their impact would be the same to the person going through the losses because he will only reap losses at the price he bought. So in a situation where I had a loss of 2 btc, I suffered a loss of 2400$ because I bought it at 1200$/1BTC. Meanwhile, a guy who bought 2 btc today only went through a loss of 400$, so yeah. Losses are losses, I don't cry over spilled milk.

My biggest personal loss was 0.2 BTC, I bought a digital product and it was legit, but I had a time limit to use it and I failed to meet the deadline.

It was a bad day.

invested in cloudminr.io 0.18BTC
cloudminr.io is now closed Smiley

sorry to hear that..it has a 10% trust rating in scamadviser

lose at cloudmining, bitcoincloudservice 0.2 (ROI 70%) hashprofit 0.35 (ROI 45%) cointellect 0.64 (ROI 25% )  Cry

no im never trust cloudmining again

lots of people was on a loss streak with them.

it should of been a red flag though since pbmining was doing something similar but just had monthly giveaways that they did without explaining to show hardware.
after cloudminr.io and scrypt.cc i think i have enough of the cloudmining sites and will never invest with those kind of ponzi's
