What Bill Gates said would be true because he knows about handling the assets. You cannot say that Bill is wrong, all of us are not investing as we should.

It's just his opinion ,Yes it can be harsh for us who are expecting highly on this, risking everything, and hoping it can change our future in positive means. But let us see the positive side of what he was saying, he is just keeping us safe from being blinded. Most of us learned the positive result that cryptocurrencies brings us if we invest on it and not minding the bigger risk it can become. Let's just all keep safe, we still do not know what would be the future of cryptocurrencies.

Isn't it the Winklevoss Brothers already replied and challenged Bill Gates already?

Quote
"Dear @BillGates there is an easy way to short bitcoin," Tyler Winklevoss said in a tweet. "You can short #XBT, the @CBOE Bitcoin (USD) Futures contract, and put your money where your mouth is!"

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/08/tyler-winklevoss-tells-bill-gates-how-to-short-bitcoin.html

But will Bill Gates accepts the challenge? I doubt it, as much as we love what he contributed to the society, but this time Bill looks like he really don't know anything about crypto though. So its hard to reason with someone as disoriented as Bill or even Warren Buffett for that matter.

Bill gates can never be a millionaire if he doesn't know a thing or two about assets. I agree that we are investing blindly in cryptocurrencies

Bill Gates didn't become rich by investing in assets! he became rich from his own company (Microsoft) and how that became big then huge and expanded more and more every day.

and we are not investing blindly in cryptocurrencies. some people might but that is their problem. we know there are risks but it is not blind risks like gambling. they are all clear just as the potential is clear.

Bill Gates: I’d Short ‘Crazier, Speculative’ Bitcoin If I Could

Microsoft founder Bill Gates issued critical comments about Bitcoin May 7, telling CNBC it was a “greater fool” investment and he “would short it if he could.”

In comments during the network’s Squawk Box segment, Gates, who in February claimed cryptocurrencies had “caused deaths in a fairly direct way,” nonetheless did not discount the idea of engaging with it himself.

“As an asset class, you're not producing anything and so you shouldn't expect it to go up. It's kind of a pure 'greater fool theory' type of investment,” he said.

Every is entitled to their own opinion and in this case my opinion is that Bill Gates is wrong.  Bitcoin has grown immensely over the past 10 years and i think it will continue to grow over the upcoming years.  I think if someone were to short bitcoin in the long term they will end up losing their entire investments.
Yeah we are entitled of your own opinions but you shouldn't be conclusive enough without  room for mistake, if he say that it would just die directly without knowing that bitcoin is almost 10 year's  in existence and still growing and in fact lately they planning to adopt black chain technology for  their business used.

As much as I know Bill Gates was crypto friendly earlier and also even looking forward to invest into crypto. I think the recent pricefall bitcoin faced recently has mabe him negative about bitcoin. I think there is nothing to worry on this statement and hopefully this will not have much effect on bitcoin. Besides, I may sound funny but I can see a positive side of this too. I think any publicity is a good publicity. Atleast from his statement more people are cominh to know about bitcoin. So please be positive everyone.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

i really agree with you mate even if bill gates give an negative statement for bitcoin is not a meaning end of the world for bitcoin as future world currency because everyone have an self opinion about what is the future of bitcoin as currency including whole crypto currency enthusiasm.

people still supporting bitcoin as currency and positively about the future of crypto currency become successful in the future are important to achieve the goals expecting for bitcoin because new technology continue to upgrade and bitcoin is part of new technology not possible to fix it all for bitcoin use it as currency without hassle.

I wonder this will be now against his last year interview which i watched in you tube that he fully supported the Bitcoin by saying nobody can stop Bitcoin then he joined the investments. After watching the video it convinced me to join Bitcoin investments and start earning more than i expected. Then now here is a news that looks like mocking Bitcoin but maybe he has his new reasons or maybe this news will need confirmation if he really is now against Bitcoin.

Bill gates can never be a millionaire if he doesn't know a thing or two about assets. I agree that we are investing blindly in cryptocurrencies but the point is, some of us are only here in this forum to invest their time and efforts. Nonetheless, we just all want to be rich like Bill Gates but as for now, all we can do is to work for the money. I look bitcoin as a form of job in this forum and honestly speaking, what I am doing is my forte.  Cool

Bill Gates statement is really disappointing for everyone mainly the users of bitcoin technology. His statement was embarrassing for new generation because he is not thinking about this future currency and though he is a part of digital technology he should concern about this technology and Bitcoin will lead the future currency and the price of the bitcoin is so high also profitable. Online technology changes our mind and daily life so btc is important for us because it’s also an online process.

Bill gates previously spoke gppd about Bitcoi . Bit when the bitcoin price started falling , he changed his mind. I think a short term investment can never prove to be profitable in the long run. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I think he is right about Bitcoin. We are investing blindly, we do not understand the operation or business plan of the altcoin we invest. The current value of bitcoin is considered to be a virtual value, and it can return zero at any time without reason. So investing in the Crypto market is a very risky investment.

anybody who has been around for a little while knows the horror stories that come from those who short bitcoin...

anyways, this may sound a little strange but i am actually glad that they are saying these things publicly. if we can get some of the newbies who are only in bitcoin for the "investment" part an to "make money" out of it then the result of all this is positive. it is also known as flushing the newbies out.
