Well, that turned out to be gossip and the exchange Binance was not attacked by hackers. In any case, thanks for the information. You never know what turns out to be not true, but what will be a sensation. Sometimes it is better to wait and not to visit the exchange, than to lose all your investments.

I think No, that's a lie. Binance has posted on twitter and reddit about their upkeep and upgrades and believe me things like that take time.

The screenshot says the exchange will be ready in less than 12 hours. But John Mcafee insists the exchange is hacked. https://twitter.com/officialmcafee/status/961662107786899456

I think they was down due unplanned maintenance.. but we will understand very soon. If withdraws continue to be fast and flawless, then everything is OK. If they were hacked.. this will hit the whole market, because Binance is currently the best exchange.

No, they did not. By the way, I like that Binans has chosen a fairly good time for upgrading and other work. I mean - for many who keep the coins and now in a panic do not know what to do with them and want to sell. Binance, so to speak, restrains them from stupid steps.

MAcafee is right about saying "Planned outages are usually announced to a company's user base well in advance." I dont understand why didnt they warn users before? Because of that people panic. I hope binance will be on soon.

Sad...  Again FUD. Soon I will become FUD resistant and keep all my crypto even I will be not in loss,  but rather in negative position (owing money to somebody) :-). This Maccafy guy likes to be in the centre of crypto universe by spreading rumours. Be careful. I know that Binance wasn't hacked. Hope that soon we will have recovery.

The headshot gif was pretty amusing. The reply from Binance was a pretty clear slap to the face of John Mcafee too.

He probably should keep his mouth shut in cases like this.

He is a large influence that is straight up ASSUMING things that could cause a small market crash lol

yeah the have postponed the ten hours delay to twelve i really dont know what have happened the main thing we should do is to stay calm and not spread bad news that will effect the market i am sure the management of the site will overcome the problem whatever it size is.

I would really take McAffee's words with a huge grain of salt.

But yeah, no hack.  This is where the magic of blockchain tech really shines.
It is an open source ledger so anyone can view the blockchain to make sure things are fine.

A logical explanation for this shutdown, is that there was a spike in trading activity that the servers could not handle.
I imagine it had to do with the small mini pump in prices we saw yesterday along with them listing 3 new coins in two days.

For me, I think it is fantastic that they shut it down to fix the problem and communicated with the community.

Other exchanges that have been having problems dealing with volume lately do no such thing *cough cough poloniex *cough cough hitbtc
They just let deposits and withdrawals hang in limbo, incorrect sell/buy orders be displayed, and server lag.
You need to realize that it is actually binance that is losing the most money by shutting down, and them doing so to fix a problem gains confidence.

Let me share my version of what happened. Binance widely uses trading bots, which, for example, makes completely impossible to trade on spreads there. But even the best bot algorithm can't anticipate all cases, and my guess is that someone found Binance bots vulnerability.
Now Binance developers probably patching their bots. Roll Eyes

As I am writing these lines, I just connected to Binance and seem perfectly healthy... and still charging huge fees BTW. Just keep on FUDing, the exchange is there.

With each and every exchange there is possibility of hacks. It is our responsibility to keep it in a secure manner enabling the features available to decrease the chances of hacks. Binance today went on a scheduled maintenance, that too might have interpreted as hack. The media does such kind of work and I don't know what benefits them in spreading news in the opposite manner to the reality.

The maintenance of Binance seems to have been announced before, not hacker attacks and scam as the news. Binance maintenance to avoid the occurrence of unfortunate events such as hackers attacked appropriated the entire property. And now Binance is back to normal, eliminating all previous rumors.

They are just having some system upgrade so they can accept more accounts in their website, binance is the best exchange nowaways and it requires less fees than these major exchanges bittrex and poloniex, and binance's security has been always excellent.I dont think they are making this up they arent hacked like what McAfee said,he is just making this hack thing all by himself.

McAffee is a big manipulater, don't trust this kind of people. Binance announced technical maintainance information earlier and now it's happening. It's a planned activity, not a hacking issue in my opinion.

Definitely not a hack. I don't think there's a well respected exchange would lie about such a lie if it happens. There's nothing to hide if it's an attack, as this would ruin their image and super negative from public relation point of view. John McAfee probably got nothing else to do in his life other than getting paid to tweet whatever he's told to.  Lips sealed
