With version 1.5.5 there are a lot of new things to improve but there is one I particularly like and it's about the change in the trading protocol. TYVM.

Without the trade ID, it really helps us to stay "under the radar".

When we had this before, it could make the bank think that the person was paying us an invoice and therefore could consider us as a business (and since banks don't allow businesses to use a personal bank account for their activity...). I had the case of a banker that I got on the phone (for something unrelated) and she asked me what those references were each time. I told her that my friends couldn't leave this field blank so they write random characters.

Even for the mediators, the trade ID is not something helpful to analyze a situation.

One thing that really needs to be improved is the use of resources because the client is really resource-hungry with the DAO synchronization even if there isn't a lot to sync

They did mention that people should not expect lower fees right now because they still having all all trading transactions in P2PKH addresses

Is there anyone who can answer a question and/or suggest something.

When I start the software, the operating system is lagging, and not just a little. It's like surfing the web with a browser and 1 Gb ram, even once it's synced. I believe my old 512 mo smartphone is more responsive sometimes.

Just to compare with mine. If you can start Bisq and open the task manager to see how many m/o is used. I'm almost 100% sure it doesn't come from Bisq but I have no more ideas where to look at. When the soft is syncing it's quite normal, but after not.

I'm using Win10 with 6Gb or 8Gb ram, (I don't remember), latest Bisq version.

Thanks in advance.

Edit:
Well, I installed the soft on another machine, still Win10, and I don't have a problem anymore.
Microsoft can be a real nightmare

Thank you for your feedback guys, as stated on the Bisq v1.2.5 release:

"Lots of bug fixes and refinements. Security deposit minimums are increased to encourage smoother trades.
You can update through the software prompt."

February 2020 saw the second-highest number of trades take place on Bisq EVER.

Tip: use Linux (Debian or Fedora) instead!

It's more stable and safer while using your coins.

Cheers!

1. Is BISQ truly decentralized?

2. Who are BISQs main competitors? What are they doing better?

3. Can I run a BISQ node and get rewarded coins for running it?

4. Can I invest in BISQ?
4a. By buying BSQ coins? How many coins are there? How was it created and distributed?
(I dont see BSQ coin listed on CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko)

5. Does BISQ have a marketing budget? I see a DAO cycle to request payments for contributions in BSQ
How big is the monthly budget?

Lots of questions, I will greatly appreciate anyone answering these,
Ill keep reading the documentation and internet to learn more

I'm looking for a DEX to fully support, I see a huge need for it

So many centralized exchanges have been hacked,
and this year we have seen many exchanges shut down,
and many exchanges have been forced by government to have KYC

Dear Bisq Community,

Bisq v1.2.5 is out!

1/ Mostly yes, check for the DAO principle.

2/ truly decentralized exchanges with no KYC, no other example in mind.

3/Yes but only if you have a trusted bonded role in the DAO

4/ Yes, you can also invest time in Bisq and get reward from your contributions, check bisq website, stats page.
also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68_DU1c0Cac

5/ There is no defined marketing budget, contributors can ask for a compensation on each cycle ( eg: one video, conference..)

Hello there Bisq developers,

I was thinking about something recently and I guess that might be combined with bisq in some way:

I was testing the concept of "Cross-chain Atomic Swaps for Bitcoin and Ethereum" messing with this project here: https://liquality.io/

They offer "Atomic Swap between BTC, DAI, and ETH with minimal risk and fees, while maintaining control over your private keys". So maybe their concept of "Chain Abstraction Layer - CAL" could be implemented somehow to bisq's way of operating...

CAL's reference here: https://medium.com/liquality/the-missing-tool-to-cross-chain-development-2ebfe898efa1

IMHO Hash Time Locked Contracts (HTLCs) and Atomic Swaps would be a HUGE boost to bisq's further adoption...

Hello, pls past your message on bisq forum https://bisq.community/ or Bisq Slack https://bisq.network/slack-invite you'll get a precise answer there.

Regards.

Hi guys I downloaded the app. I love it! Great concept, great execution.
My only comment is that there is very little volume, I saw few trades over $1,000 USD. I would love to trade larger amounts. I hope it keeps growing.

Hello, thanks for your feedback, here is an important news that may impact the volum:

Bisq v1.2 is out!

Account signing to lift 0.01 BTC limits and new trade protocol for 2-of-2 escrows.

why is there a 2btc limit on crypto to crypto trades?

the 2 btc limit is to limit risks for arbitrators if they make a mistake and do a wrong payout. they have to pay that from their own pocket. it just happend a ew weeks ago and one arbitrator lost 2 btc becuase of that. thats a main reason why arbitrators are expensive, as they take serious risks

why is there a 2btc limit on crypto to crypto trades?

I believe it's a limit "per trade" and not "per day" or something.
When you start or take an offer, the limit is the maximum you can trade in one shot. But you can, of course, start or take as many offers as you want (as long it doesn't exceed the limit)

Dear Bisq community,

Below the last Q&A video on contributing to Bisq. You'll find usefull info about how to start contributing to Bisq as a Dev and non Dev and it also provide last numbers about trades and volums, that is doing pretty well with 9000 BSQ burned for trading fees in last 24 hours.
