That's why I personally don't use exchanges. If I wanted to cash out I'd probably just sell locally or through a bank transfer or something on here. Always best to cut out the middle man and that's why I think we're in desperate need for decentralized exchanges.

For what reason? You just said "that's why" with no context.

Because a lot of people do not wish to have to go through the process of being 'verified' by another institution.

We have a decentralized currency, why would we want a centralized body telling us if and when we can make transfers ala Coinbase?

To each their own opinion. All services (even if based on a decentralised currency), at this point in time, will require some sort of verification for higher limits (for the debit card).

You may still order a card with the basic limits with absolutely no verification, just a valid shipping address.
Is bit-x planning to add CAD currency deposits? I would get the card, but the currency conversion fee is killer... Sad

Why someone have to choose it instead the wallet?

To pay in physical stores that accept credit/debit cards and not bitcoin.
But what is the benefit for costumer?

What is normally the benefit of using a debit card? Convenience and accessibility. The main benefit is being able to spend your bitcoins directly. You don't need to trade or cash them out as you can do it easily with your card from your exchange balance. It all boils down to whether you think the convenience of being able to do this is worth the high fees. For some it is and others it isn't.

The fees are lower than Localbitcoins bitcoin to cash trades. Around 4% I've experienced.

Convenience, as long as you are happy with the verification and the bank approval process.

The limits for basic verification are far too low for it to be of any use to me.

No one in here thought to mention the need for bank approval in order for this card to be of any significant use?

Try AdvCash. It's a prepaid card [not my thang; see reply]
but it is worth buying. There is no much different between prepaid card and debit card.

Checked their fees and they are better than Bit-X at some point.
Can you please tell me whether we can use these cards in order to verify PayPal accounts?

AdvCash offer both physical and virtual card. I don't know about verification but I think it should work.
Prob is, I want my card tied DIRECTLY to a Bitcoin wallet,
not bouncing around to a 2nd cash acct. .
I already have 2 checking acct.'s, I'm on SSI, I don't need hudge withdrawal limits,
just way less "tracking".
[No, I'm not processing hundos of CC#'s thru Silk Road LOL.
Just online pokering.]

Then the Bit-X Card is the card for you.

I don't have any experience but their fees are high IMHO.

Well that's how they make their money but its also the reason I wouldn't want one. If I could find one with cheaper fees it'd be awesome but it just seems like wasting money having one of these at the moment.

Try AdvCash. It's a prepaid card but it is worth buying. There is no much different between prepaid card and debit card.

I have just created account on Advcash.  But I am not able to find page, how to order the physical Prepaid Card.    please guide me to order Card from Advcash.

You can see 'create card' or something in left side. Click it and finish the process. Please continue discussion on https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/advcash-a-new-anonymous-bitcoin-debit-card-eur-usd-1011381.

It worked for me. Their fees and limits are definitely better than Bit-X, and its the one I'm using right now.

Bit-X will be releasing their own Prepaid and Virtual Debit Cards soon Wink.

Early June.

I hope the fees are competitive to AdvCash.
