Thank you for all the information on the wallet...really helpful!!

I am really excited about this..came in after the ICO and was surprised coins were being sold at much lesser than the ICO price. Well who am I to say no to a good deal Smiley

Looking forward to the coming months and new developments.

I also received my first stake, it was a bit more than i expected and next payment should come through in the next 30 minutes.

Newbie question here: So how does the staking work, seems like I read/was told...something that you need to send yourself  some of your own coins, can someone give me a pointer or 2?  Thanks in advance
Download the wallet, send the coins from the exchange to your wallet and they will start staking after about 8 hours.

will you guys ever build a forum as amazing as bitsharetalk....using btctalk as main place of discussion is amateur

kinda amateur for big chinese investor to go to btctalk for info esp after 3000 btc

I asked this question earlier - the reply was that this forum/thread would be a main source but that a forum will be provided in the future.

It's still early and I'm not too concerned.  In fact, this is the first I have checked this thread since yesterday afternoon.  I am content with going about my daily business and letting David and the team do what they do.

Here is the quote I am referencing -

Is there going to be a forum for Bitbay or will the only place to converse be in this thread/reddit/etc.?

This thread will definitely be the main channel of communication for the coming weeks and months. We are all long time forum members and understand how important a well moderated and updated thread here on Bitcoin Talk is for both excellent,, informative discussions and answering the community's questions.

In the future there will be other venues for interaction, including a dedicated forum connected to the marketplace, and a channel for long term BitBay investors to gather and communicate, especially as we move towards some of the hedging & pegging aspects that David has been explaining.

Zimbeck posted a v nice reply to my topic, asking what the difference is between Blackcoin (BlackHalo) and Bitpay:

http://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/comments/2mgrgy/can_someone_please_update_me_on_the_bitbay/cm4alpy

"Good question. I'm going to explain exactly what the differences and similarities are.

BlackHalo will be the first coin to have markets but they may only have a few days lead. You guys will want to prepare some articles when this happens.

BlackHalo will be the only multicoin client at first. However Bay will probably get a Halo if they "earn" it.

BlackHalo will be getting NightTrader multisignature exchange. Bay will not be getting pairs on release however will probably get a spot on the exchange.

BlackHalo gets the Microtrading engine first making it the first decentralized exchange. Since I do not see it as a rush to put this in Bay, They will eventually get it.

BlackHalo gets a feature that Bay won't. "Backing" by using locked funds. And, I'm thinking of ways to give BlackHalo a special multipool.

Baycoin gets pegged to the dollar or RMB. They will be a test market for a fork to a NuBits style economy. It will reflect a governance system.

Baycoin gets to be the first coin to support or fund a mesh network. I'm going to decide how to push this incentive.

This one is very important. Baycoin will probably be the first of the two to use locktimeverify. unless rat4 wants to fork before that. I have talked to him. He will add it but I have more control over BitBay than BC. This matters because I can do my double escrows in exactly one transaction with this feaure. (Instead of 2) AND I can eliminate the instant refund from the client since malleability won't be an issue. Also, I can do many more types of contracts. Like I can do dead mans switch, futures without microtade and atomic trading. So I really hope he adds it so I can put all those contracts in Halo.

Blackcoin gets a multisignature staking system and someone will probably create a staking device. Baycoin will have to eventually get this though for security purposes.

Blackcoin will get pegged to something (maybe even Baycoin) if the peg to the dollar works out.

However, if the peg works out i was thinking of making BC a multipool moving peg. But this only works if rat4 lets me do it since he would have the final say here.
Also, dont think of them as competition. it was a funding issue and it was also that I was in major debt and was under a lot of stress and it was interfering with my work.
One last thing. I can assure you that the million dollar crowdsale that Bay secured would have been impossible without the team that hired me. I highly doubt had I started my own coin i would have been able to raise it myself. So they deserve it. I'm not going to go further into detail on that but its a very exciting addition to the game. We should watch that project cautiously but with interest."

Only 2 types of investors trade in weekend emotional/panic-traders and the traders who take advantage of the emotional/panic-traders:)

I think in week there are the same types of investors Cheesy

This precisely.  It seems like 99% of investors are that way all the time - and I have to include myself in that count as well.  Thankfully, I now have enough years of experience of knowing that the day I sell at a loss is the day that whatever I was bagholding has a 500% surge (most recently this was CINNI... literally the day I gave up on it losing month after month... the price went from ~800 to nearly 5K, albeit briefly).  Thankfully, I've also learned that once I'm out... I'm out forever - unless I can buy back beneath my sell.  Never lose on both sides of anything... that's the only un-survivable mistake IMO. Likewise the thing I'm sure will have another day or so of parabolic rise... crashes out within an hour of me going to sleep.

But the things I've mined and held or bought early and forgotten... have occasionally made me enough in profits to just laugh off both of those... and just take a wait-and-see approach to almost anything - as long as there is still a dev and a plan, there's a possibility.

How anonymous/decentralized is the marketplace going to be?
With being closed source at launch..  I'm guessing nsa nodes/backdoors all over the place  Sad

Thanks for the humor Rocoro : -)

As you guys all know, we are serious about changing the landscape of how people interact on the internet. BitBay is about giving people the freedom to buy and sell regardless of what country they live in. When we say join the revolution, we mean it.

If government agencies want to get involved, they will have to buy BitBay first. : -)  And by all accounts, David is going to make it expensive for them to do so : -)

So it's not going to be open source then?
