I'm wondering about that... what the rules would be for being a relay. Maybe we can do a collateral deal but then there would be some sort of profit system incentivizing them? So far we haven't really focused on that aspect. For now, I'm concerned about the basics of the system and engineering to scale.
I think that it would be great to make bays as incentivizing as possible. Not only for shopping, hiring and depositing, but a loyalty currency for BitBay. Imagine if people become interested in accumulating, earning and spending bays! For me as an investor it looks like a miracle and paradise.

crazy to see bay pushed well out of the top 200 now

this is very strange and with only 4btc volume on bittrex today

we need to come up with a bit of a plan to start bringing more awareness to this project.

I'm almost done with this template and will finish the API and Python contract ahead of schedule. All that is left is Barter. Then the peg. So I'm working as hard as I can.

One thing to consider about being off page 2... is that there is a lot of scam projects filling up the charts. The fact that nobody is held accountable to the claims they raised X is whats causing fake marketcap to rise above real projects. This won't last in my opinion.

Realize that 70 million was the top of page two a few months ago so the amount of bullshit to hit the charts lately is part of the issue.

At least in my opinion.

Of course David we all know you are working as hard as you can and the product itself is way way ahead of most of those even in the top 50. The constant updates and new features are there as promised.

all these fake cap shit icos are sucking btc away from the real projects and it will not end well for those investards.

I guess people are more impressed with bullshit newfangled consensus schemes that sacrifice decentralisation for some hyped up tps.
Is there really any proof that there are any time tested new models that keep the same level of decentralisation and increase tps without going bloated super gigabyte chain size? isn't there always some trade offs either way that leave it questionable if it really is an improvement after all things are considered?

Do we really believe eos ada and all the new crypto 3.0 projects are really worth it?

And if we swapped over to something else would it require a huge amount of work to move bitbay marketplace off of pos3?

Just before the peg is launched I have a great idea for boosting bitbay's awareness and popularity, although will require some whale donations to a marketing pot.

Is it really one item in the marketplace or I don't see somehow? I heard that there could be a bug when you don't see, but I don't think that it can be so that you can see only one item and not the other.

There is about 7-8 items. The thing is you should leave the software running so it has time to see everything that gets broadcasted. Sometimes orders can get circulated and then those who weren't connected may take a day for it to get broadcast again while updating. Consider the markets are decentralized and serverless so unless you are always connected you might not see some orders.

Also, we are working on our Bitmessage relay which is basically giving users the option to run a strong server node to relay the traffic to those who missed it and increase the speed. It will be needed for web markets.

David, how long would it take someone to load the web marketplace if they are syncing for the first time.

Well the marketplace doesn't "sync" but it does something similar when catching up with messages as they circulate and it can take up to a day in my experience.
However another thing to consider is users refresh their orders every 2 days so it's possible a message falls out of circulation and then gets refreshed later.
So definitely no longer than 48 hours.

Once we have "master node" relay servers then we can immediately show some of the orders in the main markets. We have a prototype but so far we want
to make more changes to it so it's also conducive for web based markets.

Interesting.  Will anyone be able to run a relay node by locking at bitbay as collateral?

Are we listing on Crypto bridge DEX?
I have seen twitt 2 days ago..
Any announcement regarding this by DEV?

Yes it's true

https://wallet.crypto-bridge.org/market/BRIDGE.BAY_BRIDGE.BTC
Dexs will be bigger than cexs in the future. Being listed on one of the most popular dexs is big step for Bay.

Dear Bitbay team,

Just found out about Bitbay and i really like the concept, dev team seems to be active. Before investing in this project, I have some questions:

1) What is the utility of the Bitbay token? Is there any other insentive than 1% staking reward?
2) Does the network also runs masternodes, or only staking?
3) How does Bitbay differ from Particl?

Btw, there is a major typo on the website, under features.

https://bitbay.market/features

It says, "crpytocurrency", i guess this has to be "cryptocurrency".

Hi VinneG,

1. BitBay's coin (on its own separate blockchain, not ethereum based) serves for the purpose of collateral during double deposit escrow transactions. It's the one thing that holds two parties to their word, to form any agreement in the marketplace. The two deposits are always in BAY, however payment for the transaction can be literally anything, (including crypto or fiat currencies).

2. There are no masternodes with BitBay (helps maintain decentralization), only staking on Proof of Stake 3.0

3. For comparisons of BitBay and Particl, check out this BCT thread here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ive-compared-syscoin-bitbay-particl-decentralized-markets-comparison-table-2354040

However, two main differences offhand are that BitBay has an already working product since 2015 (that has tons successful marketplace transactions under its belt including real estate) and will be offering the Dynamic Peg. The peg will provide both stability and an opportunity for investors to profit over time. This will be the first programmable peg of its kind, and no other project has done this.

When is the dead line for claiming optitokens?

I mean i know the snapshot deadline was 1st of may but when is the claims deadline?

I cant see anything about the bitbay airdrop on their site?

i sent email as instructed 3 days ago and hasnt got anything yet.

I'm shocked bitbay marketing team didn't make a lot more of this airdrop to be honest. This should have been pushed all over the main board.

This thread needs thread manager to answer all questions and keep it on the first pages of the ann section. David does what he can but fair enough he is better coding and designing the project.

When i hear there are whales with 10's and 10's of millions come on guys let's hire a thread manager for a few bay crumbs (to them anyway) per week.

The deadline for claiming seems hard to even ascertain for this airdrop ...

Please explain what you mean by a "thread manager" is that like a PR manager to post relevant news and developments?

He isn't distributing coins yet and just to let everyone know I didn't see any concrete deadline. I'm sure he will be more than patient to wait for all of the people in the top 500 snapshot to claim. I will send him a message and see if he can clarify some of that.

Yeah well it was a very nice gesture from Opti however we also had a deadline for the dedicated Mac build and some GUI updates. I think we are still missing key marketing people to push this forward. Consider how many different platforms of social media can be used to market. Either way this year is a dramatic difference over the previous one, we have  a lot of great stuff in store.
