The biggest problem with Bay i think is that you need to download the whole freaking chain before you can do anything. The average person won't bother with it as they are used to web marketplaces. Just need to wait for Bays web marketplace and people need to  understand the advantages of double deposit escrow.

Dear Bitbay team,

Just found out about Bitbay and i really like the concept, dev team seems to be active. Before investing in this project, I have some questions:

1) What is the utility of the Bitbay token? Is there any other insentive than 1% staking reward?
2) Does the network also runs masternodes, or only staking?
3) How does Bitbay differ from Particl?

Btw, there is a major typo on the website, under features.

https://bitbay.market/features

It says, "crpytocurrency", i guess this has to be "cryptocurrency".

So much development to come in relatively short time period...

this project is undervalued IMO

however considering that we are only recently coming  out of the Jan- march correction from 2017 exuberance-perhaps we should look at the overall market cap in all cryptocurrencies and expect the price of stable blockchain projects to float up as institutional money flows into the sector

thanks to the developers for their steady improvements

who takes care of marketing?

Our marketing is mostly managed by a group of members although nobody specializes in it. We have for example, SEO people and we have project managers such as Shorn and when Aletha does recruiting and outreach it certainly helps. We have attempted to work with different marketing leads but nobody yet has delivered what we needed. So yeah it's a work in progress. But we do things like recently going to seminars, we have a good Twitter and YouTube prescience and several community managers.

What about Raspberry PI? How soon will they begin listing these devices on BitBay market?

Good question I think maybe other members more closely involved with it can answer this question. We should actually start populating the markets again considering the new version of the software being released.

There are two main competitors for bitbay: syscoin and particl. Do you know what are the differences between them?

Well we are based on BitHalo which was the worlds first smart contracts years before Ethereum and our markets were a year before Open Bazaar. Our contracts are unbreakable using double deposit escrow which is a major advantage over SYS. As for Particl which use to be ShadowCash, they started their project inspired by BlackHalo and eventually BitBay. So pretty much everything on the Particl roadmap is stuff we already have. And even when they do get it we have multiple templates and are not only just sales of goods but also services and barter and custom programmable contracts. And then we also have the peg on the roadmap which will cause our coin to be much more stable and protect it's growth. So why those two projects are higher marketcap is a mystery to us all because we have been leading the industry in tech for years.

Really?  Smiley
So soon?

Well I can say the template releases are definitely on schedule. Actually the Hire Template has been mostly finished for a month. As for web markets I don't know because that part I'm not coding and I think they have been trying to get the nodes to be stable for android and web wallets and also they will need to see the architecture for it and everything. If I can get the templates done early then the peg should be on schedule. Although honestly I would prefer a test client before forking. So any release we can see the software enforcing the peg and then a little more time to negotiate with exchanges.

Thank you, David!
The last thing I'm not sure is do I need to create some special custom token in eth wallet to receive OPTI. There was an instruction:
https://medium.com/adbank-blog/how-to-add-a-custom-token-to-myetherwallet-fc4f17840ded
But I don't know if that ADB token was just an example and maybe I should create one for OPTI. I couldn't find info.

You would just be telling MyEtherWallet to recognize it so you can check your balance and send and stuff. Opti will probably
give some info on that when it launches.

Okay so this post is going to be a bit casual but I will forward it to Sean so they can make a nice tutorial with some screenshots.

If using Markets wallet:
Your account that qualifies should be the one you have open
Go to File->Sign/Verify
In the area to enter your message, paste your ETH address without any spaces or extra stuff
Then click sign
Choose one of your keys from the account you have open that qualifies
Then copy the signature and save it somewhere
Click sign again
Choose the second key from the account you have open that qualifies
Then copy the second signature and save it somewhere
Then close that window and go to the send tab
Click on advanced sending
Click on "Copy redeem script"
Then send an email to Optitoken
The contents should be your redeem script, your ETH address and BOTH of your signatures

Is it safe?
And where exactly the "key from the account you have open that qualifies" located?
Thank you!

Every account comes with two "share" files. key1.share and key2.share. Those are your public keys connected to your private keys. Really just the account that qualifies is the one you have open which is one of the top 500. So yes it's perfectly safe. What you send Opti is your redeem script which is actually just your receiving address written out longer, your ETH address and signatures. You can always contact me in advance if you have any questions about this. Maybe we can make a short video showing how to sign for both QT and Markets or a visual tutorial.

Thank you, but BitBay client lets you sign only ".private" files and there are no other options. So I signed two ".private" keys, exactly as you said: "Choose one of your keys... Choose the second key". Is it OK? Can somebody reach my account using these signatures?

Correct! The two private keys connected to your account is what signs. Then Opti only needs your redeem script which contains the public keys so it's
easy to verify.

Bitcoin works with signatures, that is how transactions are also sent so yeah absolutely secure. You can learn more about how the cryptography works in these
really cool videos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXB-V_Keiu8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEBfamv-_do

I'm going to make a graphic to show this process better for both QT and Markets client. The Opti snapshot is the 1st of May if you know you will be on top 500 then surely you can try to sign now.
